2010, it just got there this Monday. They will do baseline probably next Mon/Tues and the car was supposed to go into the shop about Tues. I'll be there Dec 30th (visiting family, grew up about 45 miles from LPE).

Those Forgelines are going to look incredible. That may get added to my list. LPE will have body parts available December, and my car is there December ... so thinking pretty hard about some body mods.

Thanks mws, yes, we're going to be an exclusive group. Guessing mine will be one of the crossovers - started 2009, finished 2010. Hey, maybe mine will be first 2010 build?!? Doesn't matter, certainly an elite club either way!

Yep, she locked me up mws. She is really missing her car and needed some significant driving time.LOL

Kidding aside, this time of year is extremely busy for me at work. 16hr days from the second week of November all the way through Christmas and then I should get a nice break, hopefully. I am very blessed to have had a good year like this when so many have struggled.

Hey Guys, Those of you that are ordering the Racing Brake Rotors need to get your deposit in for the front rotors.

Paul, MWS, and Junkie - You need to get your deposit in on the Racing brake site.

We now have enough orders for Racing Brake to build the rears as well. These will be after the fronts are done.

If you havn't been on their site recently, read post #66 and #67 from Bobby Fisher (NASA CTS-V race car driver's comments). You will like your brake purchase/upgrade!

Hey barryInv,

I'm in the process of ordering same package. Was LPE concerned about boost drop from backpressure loss and heat buildup from the shorty headers? I inquired about LTs and they shyed me away from it. If shortys make sense I might do the same - it would look great for shows. Did you do ceramic for the shortys?

Hey barryInv,

Just spoke with Ryan at Lingenfelter. Sounds like your car in there currently. He's going to keep me updated with pics and performance stuff. Apparently they don't have any shorty header testing done yet with a supercharger. Love the idea from a "show" standpoint, HP would just be a bonus.

Congrats on your package! ...... just placed my order today for LPE650

Hey Blue70SS,
Congrats on your choice - you won't be disappointed!! Yep, mine is there now, will visit it on 12/30. Before sending to them I messed around with some aftermarket stuff. Suffice to say the HP numbers posted by various aftermarket parts are pie in the sky. I had installed a Jet MAF, Jet Perf Module, a Hennessey CAI, Borla 140280 exhaust, and Doug Thorley THY-336-C shorties. Mine dyno'd pretty strong but not nearly as strong as the parts advertised it would. PM me if interested in numbers, you may be surprised how little this gained.

I've talked w/ Jeff at LPE about the shorties. We are not expecting much if any HP gains to the final package. Maybe a little, we'll see. Jeff wasn't concerned about shorties blowing out boost or significant heat build up since since the shorties use the stock cats. The longtubes are usually used with high flow cats which at the PSI they run on 650 would be a problem.

If I had it to do over again, I'd still buy the Borla (no power gain, but great sound) and shorties (little gain likely, but beautiful for show). Yes, mine are ceramic.

BTW, we're in the same boat as far as the mile high stuff. Reno is at 4500 ft and my house is at 5100. Typical correction factors here run in the 14% on good days to 18-19% in summer. That hurts!!

BTW #2, nice color. At first I didn't like IOM but after seeing some in person I rate it up at the top of the list (with my choice of course, IBM). Very nice. It's gonna be a beast soon enough!!

Hey barryInv,

What shorties did you get. I'm intrested in getting some installed when LPE gets my car for the LPE570 package. Keep me posted with the results and pictures. Thanks!

Thanks barrylnv,

Main reason for shorties would be for show.... don't expect much gain, just don't want a power loss with the backpressure loss & heat thing. Also if done, undecided if better to go stainless and turn blue, or ceramic and need to clean'em up per SLP's instructions with pad so they don't get a rusty look. On the other hand, ceramic may balance out the potential heat problem vs boost. It'll be interesting to hear ETs on your car in Reno.

Raul - I'm running Doug Thorley shorties, part number THY-336-C. Here's the link to them: http://dougthorleyheaders.com/produc...productID/1031. Have you officially decided to send your car for the 570 package? If so, congrats, very nice choice! If not .. what are you waiting on?? Haha, just kidding.

Blue - agreed, they are beautiful for show. I love the look, and so far nobody is expecting loss with them. I prefer ceramic but you're points are right on - depends on what you hate worse, blue headers or regular cleaning, though I do think ceramic will help the heat issue as you say.

Not sure what the ET correction is here, guessing around 6%. Never actually dragged at a real track here, but certainly will next year. The 14-19% are dyno corrections of course. I grew up an hour from LPE ... still getting used to this thin air stuff.

barrylnv,

Lingenfelter can tune the skip shift out - I spoke with Ryan about it. I'm removing mine and going the tune route. Probably sell it later for $15-$20 and have one less connection by the tranny. Can't wait to see pics of your completion!

Blue, I didn't know that, thanks! I agree, better to program it out than have the extra cable dangling. I'll talk to Jeff about this (though he's probably already read this!).

Hey guys,
You will not be sorry with your choice. Going with LPE and the 650 package is amazing, this car rocks!
Now I just need to work on the susp. a little and she will be perfect. Unless I talk myself into the blown LS7.....cant stop thinking about that one.

I grew up an hour from LPE ... still getting used to this thin air stuff.
barrylnv,

How's progress on your LPE build? Any dyno and boost pressure results yet?
