There is something else very unique about the RS-ZL1 that wan't mentioned in these posts. The engine that currently sits in the car is not the factory motor. The factory motor had to be replaced within 6 months of the car's original purchase. Somehow the motor was later found and rebuilt. It was sold along with the car and was mounted in a steel frame on wheels they were pushing behind the car when it went up for auction. They even cranked it. They said the ZL1 motors alone are worth 50k today.

What an awesome car.

Nope. I was watching the Mecum auction on TV and then went to their website. Mostly muscle cars, check out the website.

There were only 2 zl1 corvettes so the odds of me getting one is........ 1 in 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,99 9,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999, 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 say i got a pretty good chance

The other 69' ZL1 RS was painted in Cortez Silver w/ black rally stripes. I've been trying to hunt down pics for it but have come up w/ nothing. If anyone knows where pics of the Cortez Silver car can be found please link or post the pics in here? Thanks!!!

Highway 61 made only 600 1/18 diecast replicas of the Cortez Silver car. Beautifully made, and if you're lucky enough to find someone who's selling what's left of the production I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger ($62-$70+).

A 2 year old thread from the dead!! I'm certain I saw that exact yellow ZL1 at the Goodguy's show in Scottsdale, AZ earlier this year. I'm pretty sure it was #57. Awesome car!! It was the first genuine ZL1 that I ever saw in person.
