We got her back today the problem was the drive shaft. My wife reports that everything seems tighter now.

Buddy that's the same exact thing that happened to me. I called Gm and everything and I just had to bite the bullet. I won't be spending another dime at that dealership

What about the rest of your power train warranty? Did they void it?

First off EXACTLY what did you tell them when you took it in? Second EXACTLY what did they say?

This will determine how you should handle the situation. If there was clearly abuse done which they have to prove then you might be screwed. However they have to prove it not just say it and you buy off on it. A lawyer will be your only option if you feel you did not do ANYTHING that would be considered abuse in a court of law not how you feel. You would have to pay the $600 and sue for the return of it plus all applicable court fees and lawyer.

Yet Another CV axle failure

Having a cruise around town and noticed a slight pop sound.. Stopped a couple miles down the road to check it out when I got fuel and ... Grease all over the passenger side rear. Popped the wheel off ( sorry no pics ) and the boot seperated from the wheel hub , torn in half. I have done some hight rpm dumps, and driven it like a sports car.. It got towed to the dealer (didnt want anything to break worse). I will hear more tommorow when service opens up.

We'll see what they say.

All of this stuff makes me NOT want to get the car. I had so many issues with my 4th gens and I have GM tons of slack because of the performance to $$ ratio. NOT ON THIS CAR!! With the prices and markups I want to be treated well when I walk in to the dealer, not like some schmuck. GM is getting close to loosing another customer.

The way I read the Magnussen Moss act (sp?) the dealer is burdened with proving that the mods caused the damage... Otherwise they can't "not" warrantee the car just because an aftermarket exhaust is installed. Where I live there are lots of folks buying these cars and the dealers have so far been pretty stand up. Thank goodness....

Sorry for the delay,
NOT my original dealer, but they repaired it under warranty no problem. Tech wrote it up as Improper Install from factory. The band clamp on the boot at the wheel hub had cut into the boot, causing the initial rip. Eventually ( I helped it along im sure with a few heavy launches) it tore and released all the grease. VIN 24667. They Replaced the entire axle assembly on the passenger side. 4 days had my car back. Cooper Chevy in Anniston AL, great guys!! Thanks Jeff!!
