Ignition key problem developed

A while back I remember reading about someone who had just purchased a 2010 Camaro and their key got stuck in the ignition after they got home. Mine worked perfect for about two months but is now giving me some trouble. When I shut the ignition off it sometimes will not turn back far enough to get in the position to unlock the key where it will come out. So far I have been able to turn it clockwise (sometimes it takes about 4 times) and it will finally turn back far enough to release. Have you guys been seeing any issues? Kind of surprised a Tech Service Bulletin hasn't been released.

Probably no tech bulletin service issued since this isn't a widespread problem. You may be just unforunate.

Mine just started doing this today. It has happened 3 or 4 times throughout the day . I did not think I was going to get it out the last time. I had to turn it back and forth for a few minuets before it finally turned all the way off so I could get the key out.

I discovered yesterday that when it happens I can tilt the column up and down and it will release and turn off every time.

Good info, I'll try that next time. Today I thought it was stuck for good but after a number of tries and eating lunch with my keys left in the car it finally came out.

Mine is fixed

I dropped it off at the dealership this morning and just went back and picked it up and all seems well. It was doing it almost every time I shut it off this morning.
Working great now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Problem) - Key will not turn all the way off, Can not remove key from switch at times.
(Cause) - Broken female terminal at conn M93 at ignition lock connector.
(Fix) - Replace micro 64 female terminal at ignition lock connector.

My problem with the Ignition Lock occurred with my 2010 2SS the very filrst day that I drove it off the lot from the infamous John L. Sullivan Chevrolet. I drove it home and locked it up the the Garage for the night. Then the next day I took it back to the Dealer for them to fix it. It became a big issue between the Dealer and GM as there was not Ignition Part available for Replacement the way yours was. I am glad that parts are available now. But back around July 1st they had to take a part off one of their other Camaros and then wait for the replacement part to come in.

I finally carried mine to the dealer today. They said there were three other cases in the country which involved the shifter knob. I guess the knob is not telling the ignition lock that its in park and won't let the key turn to the position that lets it be removed. They ordered a new knob but they are on backorder. Hopefully this will fix it. I guess we'll find out when it comes in.

Part #92213917 - Transmission Gearshift Control (F-Handle) came in after being on back order. It was installed 4 days ago. I have not had any more issues with the key getting stuck.

Ok I just figured out how to remove it..pull the emergency brake up some & back down & that unlocks the key allowing it to release. Weird
