Wash and Wax with Vinyl Stripes

I am having la mans style hash marks on side vent decals put on my car. I just have a few questions.
1. can I go through an automatic car wash? I was told yes-- but skeptical

2. I was also told that the only type of car wash or wax that was safe for the vinyl decal stripes was Rod's Custom. any other kind would damage the vinyl.

What is your opinion? What do you use?

Thanks!

First, make sure and show us pictures once they're installed!

Automatic car wash - [B]NOOOO!!!!! PLEASE don't do that! Is it necessary?! You're opening yourself to possible headaches as well as subjecting the paint to harsh conditions. [B] If at all possible, wash the car yourself by hand!

Rods Custom - I think someone is looking to sell you their product. I've never heard, nor used them, and they may offer good products. But in my experiences in detailings cars for a number of years, I've used numerous brands of car wash and wax/polish on stripes, with no bad effects. I now use Zaino primarily, and it works GREAT on both the paints, and stripes, vinly, and otherwise.

I sell vinyl graphics on this site, so i figured maybe I can chime in and lend a helping hand. I give care instructions to all my clients. These come from the manufacturer of one of the vinyl brands I sell, they are probably airing on the side of safety, but make much sense. Hope this helps!

Vinyl care is exactly what you need to keep your vinyl upholstery from fading, cracking, peeling,... etc...

I'm using 303 Vinyl Care from The Parts Bin ...and it greatly enhance the look of my car's door panels, upholstery, dashboard, and even the steering wheel!
