weight is the biggest issue.
Driver is a big issue too. Most drivers will get neither car in the 12s stock. But both are "capable of it" ________ Vapir Oxygen Vaporizer Last edited by jrc1122; 03-11-2011 at 10:02 PM. |

New Camaro is currently at 12.87 and its only September. Just wait until the winter is over and lets see what the fastest times look like. We've yet to see what the Camaro can run at the faster tracks in winter conditions. And currently an L99 A6 (not an LS3) is the fastest stock 2010 Camaro (for how long?). 1. Pave1 - 12.86 @ 107.70 mph, (L99, A6) 2. speedy6963 - 12.87 @ 109.08, (LS3,M6)

Until 2010 customers stop fretting about "Whats it going to do to my warranty" when it comes to standard bolt ons like CAI/Headers/Axle Back Exhaust Systems they will always have to deal with a neck/neck race with a 4th gen. F-body powered by an inferior engine from 1997 (Vette release).

What's the issue? 1 1 hundredth, is that better? you knew exactly what i meant, and the 2 mph trap speed is where the story is told, on the street it is way faster, and with a good launch it has better potential. There is really no argument here, but its okay, I would be mad if i bought a automatic too.

No, on the street past a quarter mile, the manual would have walked it, so if point b were any further from point a, it wouldn't have been a contest. Putting aside the driver skill and the fun factor of the manual, why are you so quick to put the auto on a pedestal? The 2 mph trap speed is much more significant AND impressive then the 1/100 of a second.
Lets give you an example, because you seem to be missing the point. A ls1 camaro runs a 12.89, and for the sake of the example, so does the l99 camaro. The l99 traps 2 mph faster, that means that the l99, is a faster car. Okay, they are just as fast in the quarter, but anything past that, the l99 would have walked it without question. Not to mention, if it were a roll race, the l99 would have had no chance, and you would have seen how much more dominant the ls3 manual was. Understand? |

Wow, are you guys serious? Aside from the fact that you missed the point completely, the higher trap speed is evidence of more potential for a greater stock time, so when another driver goes out there and cuts a better 60', the ls3 will be quicker in the quarter mile.
Ok! |

Okay, so we can agree, without question, that the l99 runs a quicker quarter mile, but is indeed a slower car. Glad we're on the same page.
