The v6 engine looks great to begin with, you could always try build it like a supra- you know tt 6 Cylinder, wouldn't be anything to laugh at. Btw, saint, your signature pic is my new favorite shot of the camaro of all time i think.

I heard the "you should just get a V8 car, instead of doin the swap" advice...

my $800 Mustang project is still on-going (nowhere near $800 now)
...2.3-out, 5.0 -in, that was the easy part....then the wiring, transmission, driveshaft, rear brakes, rear axle, fuel delivery, it never ends.....listen to the advice.
It will be cheaper to buy the V8 car, even if you start with an $800 car.
I guess with a 1969 Camaro it could be worth trying.........???
It has been a fun/frustrating/project, but I would gladly trade it and all the $$$ spent so far for the down payment on my new Camaro.

with a new one, after you buy the v-8 motor for it (who knows how much that will cost on its own, mainly cus we dont know what v-8 it will have), then you have to ditch the 6er. the v-6 is already looking to have 300hp as is. which is more than most people have ever had.

then the actual task of swapping it.... youd be better off just buying the v-8. plain and simple. now if this were a 4th gen that has been out for a long time and parts are easy to find and decently priced, go for it. but when all the smoke clears from swapping over, youd be better off just getting the v-8.

oh, have i mentioned that youd be better off getting the v-8?

Well, there's a couple issues with that idea. One being that the Supra is an I-6, not a V-6 which makes turbo-upgrading cheaper (less exhaust piping). Another is that the 2JZ is forged and build for high-compression...even the N/A Supra engine can handle 600+ RWHP in stock form, and actually the N/A's heads flow better for some reason (tested and proven).

All that being said, depending on the compression ratio in factory form, and of course having to get a much better understanding of what tuning a DI engine with forced-induction would be like...I'd undoubtedly consider taking on this project. I'm a turbo-maniac myself and have had my share of dealings wiht turbos (cue me bragging about my MKIV Supra single-turbo conversion).

No gas $? Sell the SRT8, then buy a 4th gen z28 and you'll have gas $ for the next 5 years.

More time to drive, less time to post. Sounds good to me.
