After a few back and forth emails with a forum member yesterday who was confused about the discounts we are offering I thought a post was in order. The customer took delivery of his 2011 Camaro a month ago and had been thinking about mods while waiting for his car to arrive. He had decided on Light Smoke for the taillights to mimic the darker look on the RS option cars. While washing he noticed he already had a couple of pits in the headlights! Not even through break in yet… Looked at the Headlight Armor site again and decided on doing the front lights in Clear but needed some clarification on the discounts applied to his cart.

All of the items on the site are discounted off MSRP 18-28%, clear enough.

On domestic orders over $75 we are including free Priority Mail (generally speaking you need to order a few items to get the total over $75 though a few of the huge taillight kits are over that), a savings of $9-12 depending on what you buy and where you live. This represents an ~11-14% savings on top of the normally discounted prices.

On domestic orders over $100 we offer free Priority Mail shipping and a free 2 pack of microfiber suede detail towels ($10.95 MSRP $6.95 our price). The towels are great for use during the install and of course great for routine maintenance too. Combined the free shipping and free towels represent a savings of $17-22 depending on where you live. This can represent a savings of ~15-20% depending on what you buy and where you live.

Additionally we include a full size squeegee with every retail light protection kit order that requires a squeegee for application. An additional $2.95 value. We also process the orders as quickly as possible, a significant number of order do generally ship the same day they are ordered! No need to pay for expedited service!

As it has been well below freezing here in Texas recently I thought I would revisit a few items for those of you doing lighting protection kit installs when it is cool / cold out. While the material is easier to use when it is warmer out you can do a successful install when it is cold out. For best results, install them when you get them, don't wait months before installing.

In a garage is really a good idea, as well as a space heater if possible if it is snowing out . Enlist the assistance of a friend and it will go quicker. You need to keep the film warm - using a hair dryer - an industrial heat gun is not necessary though you can use one on low if careful. Have the friend keep the film warm while you are applying and squeegeeing. Especially the case when compressing fingers along the perimeter of the kits.

Wrapping the squeegee with a suede detail towel will help too. As the material is going to be stiffer in the cold, just like you, you need to use more pressure on the squeegee. Hot water in you spray bottle is a good idea too. When done with your install be sure to go over the perimeter for a few minutes with the hair dryer to make sure the edges are full sealed. Any material hanging off should be trimmed flush.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about ordering a set and then waiting until spring to put them on. I'll just wait til its warmer to purchase.
