Ummm. Well 1 of 3 things has to be going on here.

1. Its a factory freak

2. Its not stock

3. GM changed something in the l99.

Im not going to straight up say I dont believe you bro, but I find it hard to believe that you are out 60'ing (is that a word?) cars with CAI/LT's and a tune.

Especailly when most of the bone stockers are all with in a few tenths of each other on the fast list.

I was there the night that Pave one broke into the 12's 2 weeks ago. Don't insult him. His car is bone stock. He is a very knowledgable drag racer. He helped me with my launch technique and gave me some useful pointers that helped me go from 13.8s to 13.38 @ 105.65 I am going back to NED tomorrow night and take my shot at getting my A6 L99 into the twelves bone stock.

Im not trying to insult him. Its just strange that his car is so much faster than everyone elses. Has he ever had it dyno'ed? It being that much faster makes me think that maybe gm had a mid-year production change, like a new tune or cam?

He has the launch and techniques down pat. As I said, he helped me with my runs at NED. My A6 is in the same ballpark in speed. He is just really good at launching his. I know that he did the fuse pull. I did this also and my car changed dramatically. I have used nothing but Sunoco Ultra 93 in it since. I have trouble leaving a red light without chirping the tires. It was doggy before that and I am grateful to this site for posting that information.

Guys.......these cars are hormonal as women. Cold air outside and a 000 DA and everyone of these cars would run this.

Your forgetting one VERY important bit of information. The
driver mod. Yes, it means a world of difference.

To a point. But he is still pulling 60s faster than CAI/LT/Tune l99s. Its not hard to launch an auto. Did he do any weight reductions anything?

Been moved to the top of the "unofficial fastest 1/4 mile list" waiting
1320junkie approval.

His trap speeds would indicate that he is stock. He's just getting excellent 60' times (great launch technique) combined with 50 degree air. He's obviously a very good driver. The only mod that one should question would be his rear tires. If he's running the stock tires, his time should be good.

That track must also have excellent prep to hold his stock rear tires in 50 degree air.

As I stated the last time, Wed are the rental days for NED and the track is good and I was the second car to run.I have no complaint with the stock rubber,Not even a chirp on leavs yet.

Using the time on his slip I show the DA at -359ft.

It's because he can drive his car better than most of us! And I'm sure he had really good weather/air that night. There are so many factors, but weather and drivers to me are the biggest factors. MOST PAEOPL ARE NOT AS GOOD AS THEY THINK THEY ARE. Now there is an argument for the L99 as some people have had true problems with the performace, but come winter time we'll be seeing a lot more of this. Maybe not a bunch of 12.8's but 12.9s and 13.0s should be easy.

I want to run mine again but I probably won't post any times until it gets cold, there seem to be too may people that see a 13.6 in 90 degree air and they think the car is a slow pig.

Look at the mph vs. the et & short time...anyone who knows their way around a time slip can what's happening, he's simply hooking it. This cai/lt/tune stuff folks keep throwing around would show up in the mph, not in the 60'...

Great driving, and a great et, pave...

Yeah, Pave1 tell us more details. Did you lower the rear tire pressure? Did you do a little burnout to clean the the tires? How did you launch, where your the revs at on the line. Did you stage shallow?

And there you have the other variable besides his ability to drive...negative DA...its like natural nitrous.
