Anyone own an SSR?

yes, the truck thing.

I was at the FBody reunion last weekend and they passed out this to pre registered participants:

Want it? I don't really care for the vehicle (not trying to be a jerk, to each his own) so i have no use for the book. It is really nice, very informative.

And impractical.

Niche car. It served its purpose.

Yeah, but it ALWAYS annoyed me to no end to hear them condemn the F-Body because it was a "niche" car and "low volume" and therefore it MUST be cancelled in 2002... only to find out that they were coming out with something that was exactly the thing they condemned only MORE!

I did think they were cool, though.

I love the SSR! It has the front end of a 53 chevy truk which I love because it was the year I was born. I couldnt quite pull the trigger on getting one but I looked at a few and wanted one bad. I held off because I wanted the Camaro more and I did not hesitate to get this car and I am glad I did!Maybe Ill pick up a SSR in a few years when the price goes down

The SSR in my avitar was built for a customer (kinda weird, I know) to each his own last winter and finished up early this summer.

I am sorry it is gone. The first guy thay PMed me got it.

That truck is something else. Not my style but i would check it out at a car show! It is pretty unique to say the least and looks like you did a really good job! Just have him get a rear centercap and hes good to go!

I already have that book,

the SSR is an awesome vehicle, much more usable than you think, huge enclosed trunk, hardtop convertible, and a V8. For those inthe market, get a 2005-2006 that has the 400hp engine, manual transmission. I believe only 22,000 were built between 2003 - 2006. Future collectible.

I got the Prowler in 2005, is a 2001 Black tie limited edition, only 150 built. Its cool to cruise around town, thats about it. V6 is 250hp, car weighs 3000lbs, 0-60 in 6 sec. Now the SSR, weighs a little more than a Camaro, so 0-60 in low-mid 5 sec. Mine is also a limited tu-tone, 1 of 224. We wont be seeing anything like these vehicles being made anymore.

very nice!

the prowler could have used a bigger motor. it was on a list for the worst cars ever made for that reason. never the less, i really like the car!

and thats an awesome pair!

That is wild!!! People must look in their mirror and think "what the heck is that!?". It reminds me of one of those trucks that come to life in the movie Maximum Overdrive.

I think the SSR was one of the first retro looking vehicles to come out?

I will take the complement, thank you and yes I do understand what you mean. A SSR begs to be customized, but this would not be to my tastes.
Since we are usually slow in the winter I thought at least my talents would show with this project and land me something a hell of a lot more sophisicated in design to work on the next time.
