If you're meaning a home pressure washer that you would pressure wash a house with (2,500 psi+) it would probably blow the paint right off.

If you mean the hand held wash sprayer at a car wash, that should be fine. Be careful if you have vinyl stripes though, hit them with pressure at the right angle and it will lift the edges of the stripes.

I've never used a pressure washer on the Camaro, but for my daily driver (Jeep G.C.) I will only use it as a last resort.

I hate to allow road salt to sit on any car for very long, but we usually get a day here and there in the winter where I can wash the Jeep at home. If I absolutely NEED to use a pressure washer at a coin operated car wash, I tend to use the higher pressure on the wheel wells, lower body, and use light pressure on the paint.

It is safe to use a pressure washer, yes, but do not hold it close to the paint. Keep it at least 3ft away. Wheels you can be a little more aggressive with, but still be cautious and dont get it too close.

I'll have to dig up the post where a customer tested out Poorboys Wheel Sealant and a pressure washer to clean them after it was applied. Needless to say, the pressure washer, combined w/ the wheel sealants layer of protection on the wheels allowed the brake dust to roll right off the wheels

You should always pressure wash the car to get as much debris off of the car before you ever hit it with a soapy rag anyway. The less debris the less chance of scratching the paint with swirls. I never touch it until its pressure rinsed first, then wash, chamois, and wax.
