How do you remove the engine cover??

Can anybody show me ( with pictures ) how to remove the cover on the LS3 / L99 engine?

Thanks!

No pics but it takes about 10 seconds. Better if engine is cool.
1. Disconnect battery. (doesn't every auto direction start with this?)

no really just remove the oil filler cap. Pull up on front of cover. It unsnaps easily. Lift off.

Actually, it was very simple! ... Took less than 5 seconds to complete. All you have to do is line up the back guides and pull it down like you would your hood. Very simple after all. So simple actually, "even a caveman could do it!" hahaha

Yes it does.
Take the oil cap off and slide the engine cover toward you and pull up.

Is that an aftermarket addon that allowed you to have the plate centered?

Cover just fits and latches in. His last picture that shows it halfway off is the same as it would look going on.

Probably can find them pretty easily. I've seen them in some pictures around. Seems like some member car journals or cars that have had super chargers installed have omitted the factory engine cover.

On the v6 engine cover there is also a metal post on the left side that the cover snaps into. When putting it back on be sure to snap that back down as well.

Humm, not liking the V-6 topless. The V-8 looks cool topless and I run without out the top on. Got rid of some heat soak that way also.

The LS3/L99 engines come with two covers. One cover over the engine and an additonal cover over the intake.
Here is a pic of both covers off my car.

Here's my engine with both covers off (it can cool down much easier now).

Can I get a picture of the oil dipstick being removed.... showing how to pull it with out oil dripping?

Actually a video would be best.. I want to practice my technique. Please make sure the video has 5.1 surround.. I want the Movie Theater effect. Sort of like Zoro pulling his sword.

While you are in there... I need the following videos with 5.1 surround:
How to add fluid to the washer fluid bottle with out spilling.
How to add Break fluid with out spilling.
How to add Power Steering fluid with out spilling.

Also where is the Coolant Level Dipstick?
