My first Drive in a 2010 Camaro 2SS A6 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

All I can say is wow. I have already sat in a 2LT, but didn't drive it. I went out to my aunt's dealer today (Emerling Chevrolet, Boston NY), to put an order together for my 2010 2SS/RS. We put it together and she asked when I would be ready take delievery. I tolder her around February 22nd, end of my lease. She said, ok, I have your ordered stored. It will only take us about 8-10 weeks to get your car. She told me that she would call me around November 20th just to confirm that it's what I want. So, as I am talking to her, she asks me if I want to take a test drive in one of the ones they have on the lot. I am like..OK..I am like a little kid in the candy store. She gets the keys out, it's to a Black 2SS A6. It had 180 miles on it. When I started her up, man, sure purred. This was way better sounding than my 99 TA, even with all the windows up and sunroof closed. I am like...wow, this sounds great. So, I gently leave the parking lot and we head down the road. Man, does this car feel good and does she handle well. We took her on some country back roads and then on the thruway (219). So, I get on the 219 and give her some gas...boy, does he move. Before I knew it, I was at 70. I didn't use the TAP shift. She was smooth and easy to drive. She handled the country road very easily. Much easier than my 99 TA would have. So, I put a totaly of 8 miles on her. The best 8 miles I have ever driven to date in any car. I pulled back into the dealership and I parked her back where she was. I didn't want to get out. I just wanted to sit there and savor the moment I had with her.

So, my order is stored and waiting for November to get here to order it.

Man, I can't wait until February

Difficult not to fall in love.

I just had the honor of driving a 2SS/RS manual, black with orange accents back from the paint shop. It went for IOM stripes. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL car. I am in love!

Poor New York folks and your winters!

I'd go insane if I knew I couldn't drive my car for several months out of the year!

Awesome that you got to enjoy a taste of things to come, though
