So, I bought my Camaro from a friend I used to work with that has been in the car biz for the last 26 yrs, and I try to keep in touch with him and give him feedback on my Camaro, either by email or phone calls...keep in mind, he lives in Virginia now and I still live in NY, but I bought my car from him...

We had just re-connected again last November for the 1st time since we used to work together at Bosch "back in the day"...the company moved their headquarters from NY to Atlanta, GA, so we both lost our jobs and eventually he moved to VA and we lost touch until last yr on classmates.com...(I know, a long story)

But, he constantly tells me that I AM THE HAPPIEST, MOST ENTHUSIASTIC, MOST EXCITED, CUSTOMER HE HAS EVER SOLD A CAR TO IN 26 YRS...is anyone on this forum that "knows me" surprised?...lol...

He told me that if all his customers were as excited with their new cars as I am, that his job wouldn't have sucked sometimes...as anyone that's worked with the public knows, it can be quite difficult trying to keep the customer happy...

I told him yesterday that I was probably the most excited customer because of the new CAMARO, and he said no, he's sold quite a few already and NOBODY has had the level of excitement as me...

So, that's my little story that I wanted to share with my "forum friends"...thanks for taking the time to read this rather long post...

You are by far the most excited ive seen on these boards. After picking mine up saturday i now understand the perma grin comment now. I have yet to find a person who doesnt love the car but im sure they are out there. The amount of rubber necking is crazy.

Well I might be up there with you. I splurged a couple of weeks after I got my car and gave my sales manager a gift for putting up with my being a pain in the ass. I put it on his desk while he was busy and an hour later he called me at home to yell at me. Lol. He said a case of cheap beer would have been fine but instead I gave him a bottle of Dom. I told him to enjoy it with his wife and to relax since I was off his case. I've always been treated good there but when I went for that first oilchange I got treated even better! Don't tell my wife I've only bought Asti for her. Doh!

Cool thing is that you continue to be so happy and are a great advocate for the car - as well as just being a great member of the community

Hopefully I will be in permagrin mode too before Halloween

Car was built last week - nearly there ..... garage nearly cleared out to point of being able to fit a car in there after 8 years.... (My good lady had to take a LOT of stuff to goodwill to make room !)

I STILL can't find the time to get out and just take a drive. I've got this kids this am while mama is out and about doing shopping with my sis-in law. Maybe I'll put the kids car seats in and go for a spin.

I need a membership card. Any serial # below 10 will be fine.

So..how far out on LI do you live? I'll be coming up in October/November and don't know if I'll be around Islandia or as far out as Calverton. Will definitely hit Fillingham's in Southampton for dinner one night...a wonderful little local dive.

Check out my Aviator.... that pic was when I drove Ruby off the lot...

I too was my dealerships/salemans most excited customer!! I drove my poor salesman crazy & he was so patient & understanding. He told me he had never seen a more excited buyer! EVER!!

He knew I wanted to see Ruby come off the truck & that I had been tracking her all the way from Oshawa... but when I emailed & called to tell him Ruby was on her way to the dealership...he didn't respond to my pleas of "please tell me when to come see her"... that morning, for a while, I was beside myself...then finally he called saying that he was sorry but he had been busy, with "chores", "chores", customers, etc...but Ruby was already there & in make ready & I could come at 1:00 to get her.... so I waited...impatiently, kinda upset that I didn't get to see her come off the truck.

But when I drove in the dealerships lot...I saw her...sitting there with balloons flying all around her & her name RUBY on her windshield!! The whole dealership personell came out clapping & cheering for me FINALLY GETTING MY CAMARO!!! (4 months of waiting).... anyway...my salesman had set it all up & that was what he was so busy with while I was calling & emailing him that morning!!

The other day I emailed him telling him of Ruby's experiences & asked if he missed me.... he said "Yea, I miss ya. Come by & see me".

I LOVE RUBY!!!
