Me too! What RPMs do the peak numbers come in at and what does it look like "under the curve?"

After such a long wait, the FAST manifold arrived for testing. Will post results of testing tomorrow. Pictures too. Fitting of the manifold is not a direct fit. Bolts right on, but MAP sensor hold is too small and must be bored to the correct size, there is a huge interference between the throttle body motor box and the tensioner pulley, and a small detail of the power brake hose is too short. This manifold is an inch taller than stock. Temporary solution for the tensioner/throttle body clearance was to use a smaller diameter pulley from a 2004 corvette tensioner, this gave a very close clearance of less than 1/8 inch.

the instructions for the fast intake tell you to place a washer behind the pulley to space it out a little bit

Spacing that pulley would put the belt out of alignment.

i dont think it would make that big of a deal brining the pulley out just a little,,

step 10 page 4:

http://www.fuelairspark.com/Instruct.../FAST4-158.pdf

10. if you have a 2010 camaro it requires to use a small spacer to keep the pulley and throttle body from contacting, the spacer is included with the hardware package.

here would be another option:

you can also just flip the throttle body 180* so the motor is on the drivers side, this is what the supercharger and nitrous guys have to do, just get or make a jumper harness for the throttle body.

I didn't used to think so either, but I had a belt squeal for a month on my 5.3 Avalanche. Found that the pulley was 1/16 inch out of alignment. That was all. Moved it back where it should be, then no noise for the last 5 months. That squeal drove me nuts. Besides, it looks like it needs more than that little spacer to clear the throttle body. That one pic of the clearance didn't even have the bolts tightened yet. Looked like it needed 1/4 inch to work.

ok, then how about turning the throttle body around so the motor is on the drivers side

Thought about that too, gotta hammer down the steam tube a little for it. Don't have time to order the harness extension though. The manifold has to be sent back right after the test is complete. Guess it would have been nice if the instructions were in the box, or if I had decided to look them up on their site.

does the carb intake fit under the stock hood?, what kind of throttle body?

i thought about the gm l92/ls3 carb intake, then just make a 1/4" plate to adapt the stock throttle body to the carb flange, then a filter like a carb air filter assy like in your pic

That was the funny thing, got the FAST bak off, looked over at the shelf, saw the LS3 gmpp manifold and said what if? Well threw it on, grabbed an MSD throttle body, put it on. Wow it fits. Borrowed a 66 vette air cleaner. Ha ha it fits under the hood. Air cleaner needs to be a little different because is touches the firewall a little. I would rather do an air intake though, but what the hell I really wanted a "retro" underhood photo.

That was the "test fit" stage. Now on to the logistics of making it all work. We are going to make something to convert this throttle body from cable operation to fly by wire. Now this is not needed if using an intake elbow and a stock TB. I seem to think that there is probably some advantage to the 4 small blades coming in progressively. I believe that part throttle response may be amazing.

All right, broke the promise of posting the dyno sheets. Took off early for the mile marker1 run and didn't get around to it. Will try to remember it when I get to the shop tomorrow.

So are we going to have to send you our intake and wait for you to port it or will you allready have some ready to go? and have you had time to get all the flaws out so you can come up with a price?

So I'm assuming the first pair of numbers are the base run. What about the second and third? Again thanks in advance

run 2=bone stock, run 10= ported stock manifold, run 16= FAST manifold. All runs done with stock car, no programming, NO other changes whatsoever to the car. All testing done with assistance from Pete at Vmax. He does all of the porting and flowbench testing for us. Right now we are trying to buy some core manifolds so that your car does not need to sit and wait without a manifold.

Pricing is now established. $325.00 plus refundable $250.00 core. The core price is subject to change dependent upon GM's possible pricing change.

This thread just goes to show you that the stock piece is already awesome. What are you folks charging for removal/installation fee at your shop prior to porting fees?
