Does GM make a supercharger?????????

Guys, Does GM make and install a supercharger? The dealer said any engine upgrades would void the warrenty (we knew that). BUT he did say if GM installed any engine upgrades that would be cover under the original warrenty? What do you think??

Some dealers in stall the Magnacharger so they will cover the warranty, Magnacharger also offers a warranty with their supercharger that will help cover any problems

Exactly the same with Vortech. Some Dealers will still honor your warranty, and if not, there is an aftermarket warranty you can purchase with your supercharger to mirror your factory warranty.

Ok, but will the installation of a supercharger shorten the engine life?

The only GM Superchargers at this time come on the LS9 and LSA Crate Engines.

As stated many dlealers offer warranties over and above once you use their system.

As has been posted elsewhere they cannot "Void" your warranty because you installed parts. They can deny a claim if they can prove the part caused the failure.

Any modification is going to potentilly shorten the life of the engine. But is a variable that cannot be measured.

If you installed a Vortech Supercharger on a car than my Wife drives it would last longer than a stock car that I drive I think that you get my point.

I am amazed at how well the LS3's are holding up. The powdered metal rods are suposed to be rated at 550 horsepower from what I am told. With all the internet shops "one upping" each other we have seen in excess of 700 horsepower at the wheels. This would compute to over 800 at the crankshaft!

It's a wonderful time in the LSx world that is for sure!

Robin

Yes. But not necessarily dramatically or enough for it to matter.

Mostly that depends on how much boost you run. Low levels won't really hurt anything. The farther you push it, the sooner things will break.

How much is the optional warranty? And is that in addition to the 3-year/36,000 mile warranty? I am under the impression that the Vortech S/C comes with a 3/36 at no extra cost? Correct?
