Um, in the late 80s and early 90s the LX 5.0 Mustangs were every bit a match for the 350TPI in the Iroc, Z28, Formul 350, Trans am and Trans Am GTA. The Fbodies were much better handlers and brakers though, but were way more expensive than their Mustang 5.0 counterparts.

I just don't understand why a Mustang fan is even on this site!!!

For apples to apples, 2010 Camaro SS is compared to the 2010 Mustang GT, and the GT lost...

I don't think anyone disagrees with that (I don't at least it's obvious the camaro has more power as it almost always did) but the loss was only in the power category, I hope you didn't forget that, not bad for 111 less HP eh?

also note that the current mustang needs about 30 more HP to beat a 2010 in your beloved 1/4 mile since you want to talk about "hp" ... not 111.

bolt on mustangs don't use superchargers to run in the 12's all day. just a little fyi a 325-330 hp mustang does it with 101 less HP i think that is the sad part. :/

I agree the camaro does have a lot of weight on it and the mustang weighs much less which makes a huge difference.

Its all good though these discussions will go on as long as there are camaros and mustangs.

True. And though the 5.0s were faster light-to-light than the Camaros, the Camaros out-handled them. The 5th Gen comparison is the total opposite, the Camaro is faster, but the Mustang handles better.

At least it makes sense to have Camaro vs Mustang GT in the VS section. It seems like we're usually getting Camaro vs M3 or Bugatti or whatever the hell ridiculous comparison people want to make.

They are not excatly muscle cars either and dont compete with the mustang or camaro, but yes they are awesome

I never said they were muscle car's but they use the same tactic as Ford does to compete against there competitor's.

So then why talk smack because Ford uses them. It is foolish to think they cant make a NA engine that can do the same (I'm not saying you said that) for whatever reason they've chosen not to. And yes you will probably eat your word's.
