Just a general question..

For those of you who already have you're camaro or are at least further along the way than I am..... instead of bugging the crap out of viz three times a week like all these other anxious soon to be owners, I thought I might get some feedback here.

I have my TPW 9/21... roughly how soon after this should I expect a VIN? And then I guess I'd like to know everyones experience with shipping and the duration of that. I'm trying to plan this out so I can have my down payment and trade in most organized I can.

If it's built early in the week you might get it on Friday otherwise on Tuesday (9/29)

you can expect your vin within 10 days of your TPW. you can expect your car 2 and half to 3 and half weeks after that.

if you get your vin early, such as the same day 9/29, you will probably get your car sooner, but it still generally takes about 2 or more weeks to deliver it from canada to your dealer, depending on location.

my tpw was 8/24 and i didn't get my vin till 9/3. got my car 9/22, tuesday

With a TPW of 9/21, as long as production is onj schedule, your car will be finish being built no later than 9/26. Assuming its finished on Saturday, will will most likely get you VIN about Wednesday of the next week after its built. IF your car gets rally stripes, it will be about a week till it actually ships towards you, as it will be about a week to get the stripes on. I too am in Texas, close to Houston so the shipping time won't be much different, on average, once in on a train comming this way, it will be at your dealer in about 10 to 14 days. You can see the time frames in my sig for mine.

My Dealer submitted my allocation on 07-29-09, The VIN showed up on the web site 09-09-09 and I got a call from the dealer advising they got the invoice on 09-10-09. My car was delivered to the dealer on 09-22 and I purchased the car on Wed 09-23. The origin sticker shows the car went on the assembly line 09-02-09 at 10:35 AM. My car showed being in a rail yard on 09-18-09 so I assume they were waiting for a semi transport for my car to head to my area for final delivery. My car is a IBM 1LT A-6 with 19" polished wheels. This is great car and definitely worth the wait.

I had a TPW of 9/14 my car was built on 9/18 and got my vin on 9/19. On 9/21 my car was sent for stripes and as of 9/24 it is on a rail car which at the moment has no status...:(

Hopefully it will be here soon.....

Unless you're like me and your car spends three weeks at the stripe facility only to get put on QC hold. Got my VIN 8/27 and the car still hasn't shipped.

Oh man that sucks.

I was an 8/31/09 TPW, the car was built on 9/2/09. The window sticker showed up 9/12/09, then showed up at the dealer on 9/17/09

There seemed to have been quite the delay (10 days) to get the stripes installed.
