Should my L99 be showing more RWHP?

OK, I installed the ARH headers (w/cats and left factory mufflers), New Era CAI and a tune to my SIM L99. I don't have a bare bones dyno report, didn't have time to get it before my bolt-ons. So, before my tune but after the bolt-ons the DynoJet dyno said it had 345 rwhp. My tuner was only able to get it to 354rwhp. That's it. So, should my L99 be showing more HP with the boltons it has? If you believe the HP ads on the ARH (40+), New Era ( 18 +-) and let's say +15rwhp for a good tune, we're up to around 473 at the engine. Running 93 octane and pulled the fuses to reset the comp weeks before the tune. So, is it loosing 25% of its HP before it gets to the RW to show the max 354rwhp. I'm NOT a mechanic by any means. I'm just looking at the numbers.
Is this about right or is something off?
Would appreciate any and all comments. Thanks.

Your using ricer math. Thats how the import guys decide how much hp their cars are making. By going off of advertised claims.

My car put down 347 with a CAI and tune. I would hope that I could get more than 10 peak hp out of it after that.

That being said you need to look at the whole run and you will probably see that its a pretty big boost through out the powerband.

no thats correct, you probably gained 30+ rwhp and at least 30 torque. On these new A6 trannies, that's pretty good. I bet they lose 5% more than the other autos. I also think you picked up more than .5-.6 seconds of ET and gained 3-4 mph. So there is the real name of the game.

I got 350 HP on dyno with L-99. CAI, Headers & no tune. But headers are coming off tomorrow. To much noise with AFM. Good luck.

I would have the afm programmed out, gets same mpg and less pain in the butt.

Sounds about right for the bolt-ons... New Era will get you a little more moving down the road. But that tune definitely should have gotten you more. only 9hp??? torque should have been even more.

Yes torque on the L99 will go above HP or pretty close to the same on most tunes. but this one is even higher

I appreciate everyone's input. As far as noise for the AFM, I had it reset to come on at 60mph. Made a big difference. Now when it does hit 60+, it's not so annoying as it was when it was going in and out at around 45.

It's so tough to tell without a base dyno to compare. My L99 makes 340+rwhp with just a tune, although those are corrected numbers. Is your dyno SAE corrected?

2 things.

1. Ditch the stock mufflers. You have headers an intake and a tune, now your bottleneck is the stock choke-mufflers.
2. DO NOT COMPARE YOUR DYNO NUMBERS TO ANOTHER DYNO. Every dyno reads different. Some read on the low-side (that's good) some are what we call "happy dyno's". Mike's dyno is not a "happy dyno". Mike's dyno is used to tune a car, which is what dyno's were meant for.

Go take your car to the track and rip some mid to low 12's

I'd be happy with 354 rwhp, 373 lb ft of torque with your mods. That's a lot of torque you've got there.

On average, your making 34 rwhp, 50+ lb ft of torque more than the average stock L99.

But I understand that you expected bigger gains with tuning. But most likely your car was already runninig pretty lean with your mods and there wasn't much your tuner could do to increase the RWHP. Your tuner most likely made everything safe and reliable so your engine will last for a long time running great (nice safe A/F ratio).

I've seen cars with long tubes and CAI that were running dangerously lean without tuning.

Don't worry about the factory mufflers. I did CAI, ARH long tubes and 3"

My buddy did the exact same thing on his LS3 except he stayed with the factory mufflers. We both had our tunes and dynos done at the same shop
and had the same dyno numbers (within 2 hp and 2 lb ft) So I'm
convinced that ARH is right when they say the factory mufflers flow very
well.

As for the OP ... There is something wrong with your tune .

Its not about peak gains when looking for tuning results. Its about power and tq gains across the entire RPM range. Your numbers look dead on!

They are down IMO 12-16 hp up top ... This is what we will see on our mustang Dyno on a G8 with the same mods ... He should be close to 368+ hp ...On my L99 With SLP LT's and exhaust with stock air box and filter my car made 350hp and 358tq ... On a mustang dyno ... [ about 13% less then Dyno jet ... The car made 370hp on slp's SuperFlow dyno ] .

I would go to another dyno with a wide band and just confirm the a/f is good if so look at the tune ... Just trying to help ... Numbers are numbers and yes all dyno's are different but they should all follow the same trend's with the same mods .
