I'm taking the Camaro in for a custom rally stripe paint job tomorrow. The problem is what color stripe to get. I keep going back and forth between white and cyber gray for the stripe colors. I'm driving my wife insane and I'm about there myself

Have any of you guys or gals seen an SIM with any of the above colors? I've checked out the stripe thread but sometimes pictures don't do it justice. Help please!!!

Gotta say cyber grey, unless its a pearlized white IMO.

I did Cyber Gray factory vinyl and they look sharp as hell. I think the metallic look goes great with the SIM.

I think black painted would be fine, though.

I didn't like the pictures of white rally's on SIM I've seen here.

Take a look at IOM stripes - they really look great and it is a very rare combo. White will not offset nicely from the SIM - cyber gray would be the better choice of the two you mentioned. What I have not seen anyone do is a red on SIM.

My opinion...

CGM stripes for sure!! I absolutely love the contrast, and those two colors compliment each other perfectly. The white on SIM combo just doesn't look right to me...

I will be doing a cobalt blue ghost stripe just like GLAMBERT1's.. it will be more metallic pearl than blue.... Good luck choosing.. Go find a SIM hood in the junkyard and let them play with it.. Lots of GM's have used this color.. That way you get to see it before you scratch it..

While SIM was never my favorite, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this SIM Camaro with Cyber Grey stripes to compliment the ground effects. The CG stripes also pick up the grill and other plastic which is about that color. Take a look at these, I think that CG stripes on SIM is the best choice.

CGM...I just can't picture the white looking right on SIM...but that's just me.

I don't know who painted the stripes for Dellenbach Motors, but the stripes on the hood aren't symmetrical. Look at the front edge of the right stripe compared to the left. I went by that dealer and looked at them and they definitely are crooked.

I also had my Rally Stripes painted on my " SIM " .. I think i might have to change the matte finish bow-ties and redo them in a gloss finish to match the Painted stripes ..

CGM.

Check out Tag's car journal. Its the exact opposite--CGM w/SIM Stripe and Hockey Sticks. Not exactly what you had in mind, but you can at least get a feel for how the colors work together.

I would do IBM, something completly different than what other people are doing. However I love my RJT stripes!!

the shop that painted my car did this for me too they gave me three shades to choose from and the stripe just looks like blue from right above thats why I like it it goes away completely from the side

I take it back about black on sim being boring that does look very nice (glossy ) nice job ,I learn something every day
