This 2010 #6 Sunoco Camaro will make its debut at the Koni Challenge race being held this Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Virginia International Raceway. The #6 Sunoco Camaro is a testament to the dominant 1969 #6 Penske Sunoco Camaro driven by Mark Donohue and Ronnie Bucknum. The pair piloted the blue-and-yellow Camaro to a second straight Trans Am championship in 1969. 40 years later, their sons, David Donohue and Jeff Bucknum (both established racers), will co-pilot the 2010 #6 Sunoco Camaro. Hey guys, I am Jeff Bucknum and will be driving with David Donohue this weekend at VIR. I tested the car on Monday at the Kershaw track in SC. We had some over heating problems during the test that kept from doing more than 5 laps at a time. Bill Riley has fixed that problem so we should be okay for the race. We still need to work on the balance of the car. We had a little problem getting the front tires to grip like I wanted from the turn in of the corner to the apex. My guess is we will have a good car at VIR, but I don’t think we have sorted everything out of the car just yet for it to be a winner out of the box. It will definitely win races but I'm just not sure if it will be this weekend. This race in NOT televised but I do think Grand-am.com will have live timing and scoring online.

The race this weekend is the last race for 2009. We are working on things for a full season in 2010! I would day it looks good right now that we will race all year in 2010!
