I got the call... wait... No, I didn't!

Well, here's the story. My car shipped out from the plant on 9/22, and I've been tracking the rail like mad. Well, we found out that the car made it to the railyard on 9/29, so I called my salesman to see when the car would make it to the dealer. He said approx. 2 days, and he'd call me back with a status. Well, last night I get the call!!!

My wife and I were making all the arrangements, getting everything ready. About 30 minutes later, my salesman calls me back and says.... Now get this.... "Oh, sorry I made a mistake... The car I was referring to had 1 number different on the serial number (47892 vs 47894...). This isn't your car..." Now, I am getting the ABM with White Stripes, so there is NO WAY this is possible. I check the dealer website, I check spasticsquirrel, I check everything... There isn't a car like mine, and there isn't a car on with 47894 going to this dealer... The salesman said he'd call me back today to give me another date... If this wasn't one of the best dealers in the country, I'd be worried...

Yeah your car could've came in, some sap coming off the street stopped by when he saw it and offered to pay over sticker. Then dealer says "Oh sorry you're car is still not in..." I'm sure that NEVER happens lol

Something is fishy here, I'd go down there, you don't want to see someone else driving your car around town this weekend.

My dealer played a joke on me orchestrated by Bonnies brother and said my car was shipped to Houston to a higher bidder. I fell hook line and sinker. Till he said the name of who it was shipped to.

Just an update, I talked to the salesperson again on Friday and Saturday. It sounds like the "other" was going to the Texas State Fair, and was a GM car. I'm guessing that is why it doesn't show up anywhere. It's been sitting in a railyard since Tuesday, and I've been told that it should be in no later than tomorrow. Heres to hoping!!

It took exactly a week to get from Canada to Texas. Once it made it to interchange, it was here the next day. It looks like the last 20 miles are going to be the longest though... It's been sitting at a railyard 20 miles away for close to a week. I just don't understand how it can be shipped from Canada to Texas in a week, but it's taking near the same length of time to actually get to the dealership.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, but part of teh hold up was mine go to teh delivery rail yard the Saturday, and Monday was Labor Day, then a couple of days wait till the trucking company had a full load to deliver. So I ended up picking up my car exactly 1 week after it got to the rail yard. since you posted your last update yesterday, I hope today is the day for ya.....HAPPY DAYS will ensue there after!!

I read it, I'm just calling on what the dealer said. Probably wants to display it there to get some free publicity.

I surely hope not. That would seriously piss me off. That is... If I found out about it. We already went to the fair, and they had at least a dozen camaros across the grounds, so I doubt that would be true. I just got another update, it sounds like the trucking company is saying it is still on a transport truck, and should be no later than... wait for it.... wait for it.... tomorrow! They said it was on a truck on Thursday, so hmm, that's almost 6 days on a truck to go 20 miles.... Yea, we'll see about tomorrow... Supposedly, they are going to get the supervisor involved if it is not here by tomorrow morning. Not sure how much that will help....

The salesperson said it could be a QC issue, but I'm not sure how that would be possible since you would either need to ship it back or ship it to the dealer. Is it possible to have a QC issue in the railyard, and the railyard hold the car?
