i dont know if this will help anyone but if you take the exhaust loose you can pull down on the tail of the trans and pull out the stock shifter assembly as one piece i already have a ripshift but am thinking of changing to this mgw
also is there a replacement shift boot made to fit the bottom ofyour shifter knob, thats one reason why i havent changed shift knobs yet

the boot on your oem shifter has a plastic chrome finish top collar that is simply attach with a cable tie. if you invert the boot you will see it. you snip this off and our shifter knobs have a flared based with a groove below it to attach just like the oem one. we also include the cable tie to install it. george |

Great job on the video install! Need a little more light to see what you were working on in some of the videos but still having the videos will be a big +.
I'll have to watch the videos once or twice more once I actually get the shifter. In general it seems okay but I'm sure I'll run into some snags that you make look easy. ![]() If you can get some new video of it all done and in action plus with the SS race knob that would be great.

Really nice install....moderate to easy for the average mechanic. With these videos (and maybe a buddy to help ya) you guys should have no problem. Not as easy as changin a tire, but not as difficult as say....swappin a motor out either

Awesome videos, thank you for taking the time! Which video shows you rowing through the gears after the shifter is installed? Didn't notice it right away...

GUYS !!!!
i know some of you guys are going to be installing these shifters i just wanted to make sure you guys take special note of the LAST steps... when you are tightening the 2 bolts coonecting the support arms and push the shifter up level make sure you you run finger between the tranny linakge rod and that round sensor sticking out of the tranny near the driveshaft coupling. you want to make sure you have plenty of clearance there. REFER TO STEPS 28 AND 28B IN THE VIDEO INSTALL!!!! george |

OK GUYS I MADE A BIGGGGGGG GOOOFFFFBALLL MISTAKE ON THE LAST STEPS OF HTIS INSTALL!!!!
WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE 2 HEX BOLTS HOLDING THE SUPPORT ARMS TO THE SHIFTER BODY YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT FULLY TIGHT UNTIL YOU RAISE THE TRANNY BACK UP. IF YOU DONT YOU WILL HAVE THE SHIFTER NOT LEVEL WITH THE SUPPORT PINS. YOU WANT TO LOCK DOWN THE BAC K BRACKET AFTER YOU PUT THE BOOT IN.. THEN PUT THE TRANNY SUPPORT MOUNT BACK ON THE CAR AND THENNNNNNN FULLY TIGHTEN THE 2 HEX BOLTS ON THE SUPPORT ARMS AFTER YOU MAKE SURE THE SHIFTER IS LEVEL!!! ![]() SORRY FOR THE GOOF GEORGE |

Hey George!! I thought the install was a piece of cake (except for those DARN bushings! ) Just kidding, although they were a pain in the butt!! Took me a little over 2 hours.. I love it, you did a great job! Took her for a quick run up and down the road; night and day difference IMHO! Here are a few quick pics...enjoy!!

i dont have a way to do that right now as these are laser etched anodized disks. i tried that special laminate plastic sheet that has black and red laminated and you cut thru one layer for a 2 tone but that crap is pretty cheesy in feel and looks. makes it look cheap

Installed my MGW shifter today. It works absolutely fantastic. The install wasn't too bad at all. The passenger side pin removal was the hardest part. Got the job done in about 2 hours. George, thanks for a great product.
