I've always wondered what happens in situations like this. I don't have any advice as I haven't been there before. What were the charges on the ticket? Just speeding or careless or wreckless?

That has to be wreckless...43 over..just go online and look for lawyer recommendations for that kind of ticket. Should be listed with reviews of how good they are. I think that best case scenario for this is pleading to a lessor charge and hope you catch the judge on a good day.

You're screwed man, that's wreckless driving... I would consider getting a radar/laser detector for the future.

As others have said find a lawyer that specializes in traffic law. And use this as a learning experience and please slow down... There is really no need to be driving that fast...

The worlds largest fine plus court costs.

The question I have is what were you doing going over 100 mph? Did you have a straight stretch in the road and it wasa brief jaunt or were you doing 108 mph for a long time.

This... Everyone has gone over 100mph in their camaro most are just lucky they haven't been caught. Consider yourself lucky that they didn't impound your car right then. And get a lawyer.

He says he just moved there. For me that's a big mistake. Pick your spots but know them well.

Do you get to speak to a prosecutor before the judge in NC ? If so tell him you're yute
from NJ with a clean record and ask if you can plead to unsafe driving.

I would recommend getting an attorney that used to be on the other side of the court room (former prosecutor) because they have all their connections. That's what I did years ago and got mine reduced to improper equipment. My speeding ticket wasn't as bad as yours (only 25 over the limit) but that's what I would say is your best route.

Will not help, if they use laser your screwed anyway.. laser is instant.

To OP, lawyer up and try to keep your lead foot in check in the future.

Have my place on a lonely stretch of road I have ran it up to 180 a few times but I always have my escort radar detector. Radar detector should be your next investment after a lawyer! Find a place where the 5-0 don't hang out and there aren't innocent bystanders!
