Exhaust Systems
Have any RI Camaro5 members changed their Exhaust on the SS yet, I am so undecided on which system to get and I would like to hear one in person, I am leaning towards the Borla Aggressive or the Flowmaster American Thunder system.

I am happy with my magnaflow street series axle backs. I also went with ARH long tube headers with cats and Xpipe. Be advised if you upgrade the swaybars too you may have an issue with the rear sway bracket. (passenger side)

Only recommendation I have is to stay far away from Flowmaster. They are loud but ussually make less hp than stock.

I've purchased a set of Magnaflow street axlebacks for my L99 SS. There still in the box in my garage. I'm trying to find a way to install them without getting a DROAN sound while in 4 cyl mode. I don't want to do a tune to eliminate the AFM for warranty reasons. I may have to live with my stock exhaust and sell the Magnaflows. Or if anyone has found an answer to the bad AFM sound with aftermarket exhaust and the automatic please let me know.

But, that's just my experience. You will hear a bit of rumble inside the car, but it's a good kind of rumble! It isn't loud to the point where you want to take off the system. Sorry, I have no video clips because I don't have a good enough camera to capture the sound...the only clip I have is of my car getting dynoed (listen with headphones if you can to get a better sound): http://www.motorgen.com/vid/showphot...o/1051/cat/602

Iwantone2: Thanks. So many here say the droan is very bad so I'm not sure what to do.
I fully insulated my rear trunk compartment so I hope that's enough. I guess I could try my Magnaflows out and go back to stock if necessary.

AFM (active fuel management) is on the SS 8cyl only. It reduces the L99 V8 engine from 8 to 4 clyinders. It can be disabled with a tune, but voids the factory warranty. Many say it sounds awful with aftermarket exhaust installed unless you do a tune.

The factory scared alot of people about warrenties.I've had 1 guy warrent some heating stuff. He rolled in with a cammed/supercharges 2010 Camaro and they DID NOT void his warrenty. The voided warrenty is mostly from blown motor's caused by improper tunes which you see alot of nowadays. In the last 10 years we've never had a engine failure caused by tuning.

That is correct. If you pull in with a detenated piston and they see the computer was touched =denied. This all came from the tuning company's.There are so many hack tunes out there from people that should never/ever touch a tuning software.
Here is something else they will probly do in the future.Deny claims if headers or a cold air intake is installed on the car because it affects the factory tune and can damage the motor. In the last 10 years I've probly seen 1 factory motor blow that was 100% stock. |

You installed the Corsa, right? I'd like to hear it sometime. I don't know much about 5th gen exhausts, but on the 4th gen, I believe Corsa was the only company to guarantee no drone. I went through so many exhaust combos on my 4th gen...
