Alrighty folks...here is the latest and greatest info for the Texas (and beyond) Caravan to C5F!

Couple notes: 1) copy and post the list of starting points with your name if it's not on there already (or move it if the start point is wrong) 2) PM your Caravan Start Point Leader for info you don't see here or post up so others can also catch the info, 3) List how many folks are coming with you next to your name for a head count!

Date/Time: 15 April 2010/715AM (pulling out at 730AM)
Driving from DFW (730am) to Shreveport (1115am) to Alexandria (130pm) to Lafayette (4pm) to Biloxi (7pm)
FIRST Rally Point: N. TX Caravan pulls into Shreveport LA at 1115! Gas, food, stretch, etc!
SECOND Rally Point: N. TX Caravan pulls into Alexandria LA at 130pm! Lunch for 1 hour; leave at 2:30pm.
THIRD Rally Point: N. TX Caravan pulls into Lafayette LA at 4pm, exit 110, IH 10 E to rally, eat, tell some lies!!

CARAVAN MERGES: Lafayette LA around 4pm!! We'll gas up, eat, and stretch our legs some and then to Biloxi via IH 10 to IH 12 and merge back onto IH 10 (this is the Baton Rouge exit for IH 12).

DAY 2
Route of Travel Day 2 (16 Apr 10): Meet at 815AM in parking garage at Grand Casino Hotel and Resort, pull out at 830AM to I-10 east on our way to C5F!! Arrive at C5F around 4pm for sign in!

If you want to rally with the group be at the Grand at 830AM or as we head up 110 to hit IH 10, join in there! We'll stop mid-way at exit 56 (in Florida) off of I-10 in Crestview. Several choices for food and gas...On the southside of I-10 there is Hooters, Cracker Barrel, Arby's, Waffle house, Wendys, Whataburger, Hardees and Exxon for gas as well as Tom Thumb. On the northside of I-10 there is Applebees, Burger King, Ryan Steak House, Taco Bell and Mobil for gas. There is a Walmart as well. Everything is within .3 of a mile from each other. We'll rally again at the WalMart at 1230 to pull out!

From Biloxi to Crestview is 156 miles about 2.5 hrs away and we'll pull in at 11am and then pull out at 1230pm. Crestview to Valdosta is 220 miles and 3.3 hrs away...should hit C5F right at 4pm for registration!

I'm definitely thinking about trying to go. Still need to check my schedule and with kids schools and college, but I think a caravan of TX Camaro's would be AWESOME idea!!!

I figured most everyone has to wait til closer to the time as most people have a family/work/school etc. Just throwing that idea out there for everyone who is thinking about going or wanting to go.

I noticed that you are in Tyler. We have a house off of FM 2661 we go to every other weekend and I was wondering if you have Camaro get together's anywhere around town on weekends?

Not that I've been to, no. All my events have been with the DFW group, since there don't seem to be too many of us around the East TX area!

Count me in... I am in the DFW area and would love to convoy there with multiples.. Will be a blast..

Pretty sure we'll be headed out there too. But, I'm working on trailering mine out there. I already put 1,800 miles on it in two days. ....got 4,600 on it in 3 months. I don't want to put 2,000 more on it over a weekend. That's just too d@mn much for me.

We'll see if things change. I can easily get off work....it's just $$$$$ and getting there.

Wanted to get a thread started with info and planned routes for those of us who plan to attend the Camaro5 Fest, 16 - 18 April 2010 in Valdosta GA!!

I think most (at least Dallas, south Texas and west Texas) will head out IH10 east through Houston seeing as it's a straight shot for the most part.

From San Antonio it's about a 900 plus mile hike and figure about 15-16 hours. I plan on leaving Thursday, 15 April around 9 am and hitting Houston around 12. Figure we could all meet up for lunch there (need to figure out a rally point) and then caravan in to Mississippi on the Gulf Coast (Biloxi MS)for a night's stay and hit up the casinos for the night?? We should be in MS in about 6 or 7 hours from Houston...puts us in there to eat and play around the casinos around 7/8 that night? Head out on Friday morning around 9 am and then hit check in at about 2 or 3 in the afternoon. About 6 hours of driving on Friday.

Thoughts? Anyone want to help get this together? I know this is my plan and if anyone wants to join in post up...should be a good time!!

I'm sure most folks will know after the first of the year but it never hurts to get a jump. I'd love to have a large convoy of Texas Camaros heading east.

I would imagine folks up in the northern part of Texas would take I-20. But I guess that's what this thread is for.

Sorry Brother...did a quick search but the internet is slow here in Afghanistan and it timed out on me so I wanted to post up what my plans are.

Maybe TAG can merge the two threads so we have all the info together?

Sounds good and as we get closer to the new year I'm sure more folks will be posting up.

Like I said, I got my room reserved and based on mapquest, I think I have my plan unless we deceide to do something as a group coming out of Texas.

I'm looking more and more into trailering...but, as I do, it looks like it is going to cost some cash. Poor gas mileage towing my bad boy will run some big $$$. That's the main issue. I can cut the cost down by 70% or so just by driving my own car.

Damnit, man.... This is tough....
