Exclamation Supercar Sunday SHUT DOWN

That's right. Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills/Calabasas is CLOSED. Better find a new place to meet at. A small group of us met up there last Sunday but the police were there telling everybody to GTFO, courtesy of the owner/property management.

so it is true! I didn't go last time because I "heard" that the tenants there had already filed a complaint with the property management people and they in turn contacted the local police.

Well, I noticed some guy getting heated up in a conversation with a dude with a dog. After the guy left, I spoke to the dude with the dog. Turns out, [the guy he was arguing with] is the "messenger" from the law firm hired by the property manager. He approaches people with nice cars telling them that there's no more car show and they have to leave. If anyone has beef with him, he serves them papers. I think the papers are some notification of intention to sue or something.

Anyway, he told me that because of liability (insurance) issues, the property manager does not want the meet there anymore (2-300 fast cars, 1,500 spectators). The guy said that they are going to evict VCR and ultimately shutdown the whole meet.

I kinda understand, but, like you said, the way they are going about it is bad. But I wouldn't be surprised if they are well within their rights. Not practicing grace in these matters can't be against the law. In fact, they probably found the cheapest thugs they can hire. The ruder the better.

Too bad this is how it's turning out. Looking at it the best I can from both sides, in the end, the property manager has every right to do what they need to do (whatever that is). Too bad it's been polarized like it has. Apparently there was quite a bit of drama last week.

This is disappointing for people who enjoyed meeting there, but I'm sure that you'll find a new place to go. Just don't send your business in that property owner's direction.

Were people acting like fools to get it shut down or perhaps not supporting the local business' whose parking lots that were being used?

Well, it was very common to see guys burning rubber, revving up, acting like idiots on fast cars etc. as they approach the driveway from the main road, into the parking lot and especially when they leave. And because of the large number of cars for show and spectators' cars in adjacent lots, all the prime parking spaces are already taken and customers for the local businesses are forced to navigate through crowds and can only find parking way far out.

Are you talking about Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills, or C&C in Irvine?

No, no, and NO... Cars & Coffee in Woodland Hills/Calabasas has nothing to do with Cars & Coffee in Irvine. The Irvine Cars & Coffee used to be located in Crystal Cove until they got kicked out for similar reasons.

On a different note, you're as much of a forum whore as I am, LOL. Any luck finding a job?
