Brake options

I'm sure this has been talked about, but what are the rumors out there on the brakes available on what models? I had a '99 I warped the rotors on in about 30,000 miles. I see the Brembos on the mule in Germany, but any thoughts on those coming on the base V8?

This may sound silly and ridiculous but I was hoping that the Brembo brakes would be an option for the LT as well.

I talked to a guy at a dealer who had a C5 Z06. He tossed the stock rotors and put on a good set of Brembo rotors only, and said it made a world of difference. I'm planning on an SS with the Brembo calipers. When the stock rotors warp, I'll toss 'em for a nice set of cross drilled Brembos

Yeah I have heard the same, that the Brembo's are awesome, but I am too concerned about the mileage on the V8, and I dont think I would fully use the 400+ horses avaliable, so was going with LT/RS.

So does anyone know if Brembo's will be an option on the V6?

So far no mention, but it hasn't been denied either. I'd say less than 50% chance, but that's just a guess.

Yeah, I was hoping maybe they would be avaliable if you got the RS package since the wheels need to be big, or so I've heard.

Looks like the brakes are going to be silver. I know the Hi-res pics from GM showed a black caliper, but the Indy pics show a silver caliper.

Considering that the front rotors are 14" it makes them REALLY close to fit on an 18" rim. You can usually add up to 4" for clearence of the calipers so it really all depends on if it can fit on the stock rims.

With that said I DOUBT itll be an option on LT models. On LS models MAYBE. No way they would offer it on the base base model.

im pretty sure they won't as they wanna keep the price down on the LT and LS. and as the company usually only has about a thousand dollar difference on the two of them i don't think that Brembo's will be on them. but if you got the RS package you could always get your own pair for a like 1800 or so.
