SPY IN THE SKY

I went to the drag strip and let air out of my rear tires three weeks in a row. Three times Onstar notified me that I had low air pressure in my rear tires. I am sure that they also know where I was at the time. So, Onstar can tell if you are drag racing your car. Is there a way to render the Onstar inoperable without losing ones warranty? I do not want Big Brother watching me.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean people aren't out to get you.

You have one option, just take the onstar fuse out.

If Onstar really wanted to know where you are/were, they can track your car with their onboard gps. HOWEVER i highly doubt it would ever happen unless you steal a car with gps and someone reports it, so i am sure you can take off your tinfoil hat now.

Cut the antennae wire for it? OnStar isn't gonna call the cops on you for racing, they haven't called them on me for excessive speeding. Further more, do they call you or just send an automated message/e-mail or text? I kinda doubt they even look at the location info, they just get a notification: such n such car, low pressure alarm on tires, and send out a message to notify you. I would think the only time they look at the location info is if you need directions/help.

Listen pal with the wise cracks what my question was about was will they cancel your warranty for drag racing and can they prove that you were doing it by using the Onstar.

they wouldn't have put launch control on this car if they didn't think people would drag race it. Chevy knows this happens everywhere. Now if you show up at a dealer with a ripped transmission and said you were drag racing it, they likely won't cover it, but it's kinda like dont ask, don't tell. Now the only thing you need to really worry about at the drag strip is your insurance. If something happens to your car there, it will not be covered, as I saw a Vette dragster demolish a brand new BMW M3 at a test and tune. It is not Onstar's responsibility to police the cars that are produced and report what they think to be drag racing to GM. I'm sure you can deactivate Onstar without any questions. Now for that procedure, someone else will have to answer that. happy racing!

Tell them you're having your digital tire pressure monitor re-learn.

Dont throw anything out the window while your driving either, they have the satalites set to monitor how far down the window is and how fast the car is going and the heat sensors and infrared cameras in the sky can tell if its a tootsie roll wrapper or a sig. and they notify the police and they send you a ticket!!!

tell them you're providing job security for them--just checking to see if they are awake.

Hehehe

Too bad that self-cancels in 5 minutes - or if you don't finish the 1st tire in 2 minutes!

I had to do this last evening when I put new rear wheels/tires on the front. Resetting all the wheels was fun! My girlfriend said i looked like I was in a pit crew running around to each tire, letting air out, and waiting for the horn to beep!
