You're going to want to do a rebuild on the engine before throwing a supercharger or turbo at it. The stock compression on that block is too high to run any kind of boost like that. Plus, the stock pistons and rings and rods are not made to handle boost. Also you will need a better fuel system (bigger fuel pump and injectors for starters). And it will need a custom tune too.

i agree with bluezee28, not sure about the compression its only 8.5-9.0 i think. I have never had a boosted car but i know that the stock internals wont hold together for long if at all.

how about the basics? full exhaust, tune up?

I thought the stock CR was higher than that? Well if that's the case, you could get away with it on stock compression, but even then, you're going to want to go through the entire block and replace just about everything.

And yea, you're going to want some nice exhaust, better spark plugs, upgrade the TPI system to the Holley Stealth Ram, there's all kinds of bolt-ons you're going to need to do before supercharging it or turbo'ing it to make it effective.

I'd personally rather have a turbo than a supercharger.
