Just got back from the Dragstrip, this car went 12.47 ET 112 MPH

I am curious what other L99s are running with similar mods.

It was Very Rewarding seeing our work at the track doing well.

Thank you for the business.

12.50/112 DA was 1K temp 43. If my 3-4 shift was better it might knock off a 100th or 2.

You have me beat. I have about the same mods. AR headers, New Era CAI, tune. On stock tires my best time was 12.75. It was my first time at the track so your experience I am sure is a plus.

Try running about about five gallons of 104 octane the next time you go. Also try to go with less than 1/4 tank so you don't add too much weight.

The Tune makes a good bit of difference, and we find that they are faster with a full tank on street tires, it helps traction.

I'll have to try that. I've only ran with a 1/4 tank or so.

Ted, what were the track conditions? I'm still pondering the cam upgrade, have to wait and see what the dealer wants to do about my weak 3-4 shift. Unfortunately while running the stock tune you don't notice a problem. Good thing the dealer is cool with me modding, as he let me swap tunes to show him my problem.

It could not have been a more beautiful day 60 Degrees Dry and Sunny, the track was good in the moring but as the day went on the traction was going away due to all the cars with street tires, it just kills the traction.

How are you tuning your car and swaping back and forth between tunes?

Ted.

The software Trifecta Performance uses allows me to go back and forth using my laptop. I have about 15 TCM tunes and a handful of ECM tunes I run. What was the DA during the runs?

I have a question about Dyno numbers. When you read about these cars they say the L99 is stock at like 405 hp and when you add the headers and exhaust you get a best pull 370 RWHP 387 RWTQ. Are these 2 numbers the same or they measured in different ways? Just trying to learn this stuff. Thanks in advance.

405 at the crank. 370 at the wheels.

Without Pulling the engine we can only measure Rear wheel HP and TQ.

For Standard Transmissions we Add 15% to RW numbers to find Crank HP and TQ.

For Auto Transmissions We add 20% to RW numbers to find Crank HP and TQ.

So In this case 370 RWHP makes 444 Crank HP, so we are UP 40 from stock.

I have an L99 and I put in a CAI intake and I had IPS Motorsports install Kooks 1 7/8" headers (coated) with cats, plus a Borla Touring exhaust. They dynotuned the car and I got 362 rwhp and 371 Torque. Here is the dyno sheet:

I am very interested in a cam and supercharger for my car. I'd like to talk to you folks about purchasing some sort of kit from you and have it installed locally (I'm in Ohio).

I have similar mods and was expecting a bit more of an increase in power than I was told (went from 324RWHP to 351RWHP). That being said the tune is canned via Hypertech and the Torque Converter makes as much difference from a feel perspective as the other mods. Just thought I would get more. Have not had the chance to get to the track and most around here are 1/8 not 1/4. Thoughts?
