Wifes 370z vs my camaro ss

Im not going to make a big story...bought the ss 2 mounths ago...still stock...wife bought 370z 6 mounths ago and have a technosquare reflash that gives about 10whp and up the rev limiter from 7600 to 8100rpm ;it also remove speed limiter...i bought this reflash for her because im a maniac of tuning and going on the370z.com i just couldnt resist even tought its not even my car!!!
So 2 days ago i asked my wife to go to a nearby industrial park because i wanted to know what i had on the flashed 370z with my ss...we did 3 runs with me in the ss...i say up to 100mph we were dead even...we did 3 more runs with me in the 370z shifting very aggresively...on the 3 runs i had my ss by 1-1 1/2 car!!!man this thing rev like theres no flywheel!
Thats all have to say im pretty impressed by the 370z...maybe put 4/10 on the camaro would change everything...

no offense to your wife but you should get a good friend that you trust and knows how to drive stick hard and do this little experiment again, with video cameras i would like to see aggressive driver vs aggressive driver, and then redo this later on as you mod the ss and the 370z. this is very cool that you have 2 nice sportscars. i hate the 350zs, i love the redesigned 370s.....

Not to magazine race, but the SS is a 12.9-13.0 car in the 1/4 mile. The 370Z is good for a 13.7 or so. I don't think 10 whp, if the gain is still there, is going to really alter that equation. The 370Z is definitely great on a curvy road though.

the 370z out of the box is much more fun to drive, turn is crisp...you feel everything in the steering, short wheelbase....the camaro is a nice cruiser with a powerfull engine which will feel way better in my opinion with gears but in no way does the camaro feel as tight as the 370z...need suspension work....
and the 370z is a base base non-sport car so its the lightest at about 3232ibs (from nissan)

Good enough to make things a close race and thats with the old HR and not the 370s setup.

The 370Z so far has laid down (that I know of)... I haven't found a site tracking records yet.

Those 370's are quick cars. Tune/Flash and they can go. The redesign did wonders for their setup.

I will have to disagree on your first part. I hated the 370z out of the box (test drove one). Was no fun for me, it had lack of power at full throttle, and the steering is very very stiff. I have way more fun in the Camaro.

Don't get my wrong, the 370z is a nice car. To say that the 370z IS much more fun to drive isn't a fact like you made it sound like, it's just your opinion. I had to disagree because my opinion is the exact opposite.
The performance for me just isn't there. I like it's looks and the interior but i think the Camaro beats it by a long shot for me. That is my opinion.

That was with his wife driving the Z. So I would say she is a pretty decent driver. Getting someone who shifts harder in the SS is not going to make up the difference...unless they are just head and shoulder better driver than the OP. Then we are right back at the beginning because if you put that driver back in the Z, he/she would still out drive the SS.

Heh I think the facts here are the Z is just a faster car with the flash.

Well, let's remember the 370z similarly optioned is costing more than Camaro SS. You need that sport package to compete right? And since all SS's already have sport tuned suspension, you see where I'm going.

That's awesome to hear someone's wife drives something other than an SUV. I give props.

13.7?? Where are you getting your numbers from? The lowest 370 time I have seen is 13.3 and some have been known to dip into the 12's.

Crane i bought the car with her and i was the one who gave the informations when we were doing the decision to go for the 370;
-The sport pack comes with the same suspension as the base 370z
-The sport pack have an lsd (clutch type) and it does not make a difference in straight line
-Sport pack comes with heavier tires and wheels
-Sport pack comes with heavier calipers and rotors
Base car is the faster car (negligeably) in a straight line due to lighter rotating wheels, tires and rotors.
Sport pack is 60 pounds heavier than regular car.
Base tires are the same as the nismo 370z.

Exactly, what he was quoting was the Edmunds time for the 2007-08 350z which was tested at 13.7, that particular 350z model has also gone 13.1's stock.

The 370z runs low 13's consistently in the auto form and has broken 12's with just a few basic bolt-ons.

More then anything its about an engine similar to the camaro v6 in a smaller lighter box Its fun to compare a 3860 pounds car to a 3230 pounds car

i know a guy that bought a 370, we were at the track together, he was mid 14's.
my 2ss a6 stock ran a 14.4. he had intake and no tune. for the haterz out there, we are a 2200 ft track. all times are slower. he hasnt seen a 13 anything to date in the nissan. so based on this, a S6 camaro should just edge out the nissan, the a6 camaro is a close race. the funny part is he got tuned, and challenged me to go back, so we did, he did a 14.1, i did a 12.4. (maggie assisted). i forgot to tell him about my little upgrade, lolz.
