You're my home peeps, and I want you to have a safe trip down... These are just suggestions.

Try getting thru Memphis before 4pm, preferably before 3pm. You have a straight shot from OKC to Memphis,
but from west Memphis to the Mississippi line on hwy 78 can be tricky if you've never been thru there.

If you can keep the convoy together to the hwy 78 exit off of I-240 in Memphis, you'll be doing well.
Once you get on 78 south, you will get split up because of all the lights, just stay straight on 78 and
you'll be in Mississippippi before you know it.

There's a Flying J travel plaza at Olive Grove, Ms. where you can join back up. (Big parking lot and clean facilities)

Hwy 78 from the Ms. line to just north of Birmingham is interstate now, so you're good there.
Unless it's finished by april, there's still about 10 miles of lights you have to go thru north of Birmingham
into town on 78. You'll get split up there as well, but you can use your motel as the get-back-together spot.

Thanks for the info. It has been a few years since I went thru Memphis and I have never been that way towards the SE. We can be prepared to get separated. It sounds like the Flying J fits our need. A good place to get back together, gas, restroom, and snacks. I hope we can make the time window.

Yeah, Memphis was a pain when I went through there last and I was just trying to stay on 40 heading east. I hadn't thought about trying to get onto a different road throught there.

You're welcome guys.
There's a couple of ways thru Memphis, I think I-40 to I-240 south to I-240 east to 78 is the least confusing. (highlighted route)

The Flying J is on 78 at Hacks Creek road, northeast side of the intersection.

Since this convoy plan is on its way, I have another question for yall. If we started an Oklahoma Chapter Camaro Club. . .how many of yall would be interested and how often would you be willing to participate in things like owner dinners, poker runs, etc. (monthly, quarterly. . .)
I would be interested in this and attending as often as I can. My job makes it hard as I am gone a month at a time.

Next weeking is in the works, taking ideas everyone!!
I will be in town for the weekends of the 13th and 20th of Feb if we are thinking about doing something then.

Well the trend seems to be the 2nd saturday of the month, so 13th looks great! I'll post a new thread in the next week or two with the plans.

Did you decide if you are driving or trailerilng in the convoy, camaro_eddie? Since Ject is not going, I guess I am the only one pulling a trailer.

I think I am leaning towards driving it now, it will be so much funner that way. Just had some concerns but after this last meet and greet I am like I need to have fun with it. If I was towing it was going to be an enclosed trailer is that what you are pulling?

I am pulling a 18' open, car trailer.Since I can not drive it that far, at least people can see it. We thought about pulling my wife's 2010 on a 2 car trailer, but like you said, she and you will have more fun driving them. With all of us together in a convoy, we are going to have a great time, no matter what.

Maybe a good place to meet would be off I40 across from Tinker at Chik-Fil-A? Lots of parking by that parking lot.
