Did a little interior painting today

Decided to go another route with my trim panels. What do you all think? Sorry I skipped the part of stripping off the old material and priming the pieces. Name: IMG_2846.jpg

Thanks. Will post pictures when I get to my SS. She's still hibernating. I cleaned all the goo off with lacquer thinner the plastic "breathe" for a day then sprayed a sealer primer followed by many coats of sanding primer. I wetsanded in between coats. Then I sprayed some left over base I had from my Silverado. It isn't a direct match to my camaro but close enough that it will look fine. I then sprayed 3 coats of clear, let it dry 24hrs then wetsanded/touched up 2 small spots then sprayed 3 more coats. I wanted to get enough clear coverage so the lettering appears even with the silver. This is where I'm at. Going to wet sand a few dirt spots out then hand polish.

A while back I wrapped these panels in carbon fiber which I loved but accidentally bought a set of panels with the back lighting. You can see the color of my truck in the background of the one picture. I was using a regular spray gun but you can get these paints in base/clear rattle cans. The primers were rattle cans

Looks good. If you are using spray can clear coat, be sure it has UV protectant too. Some spray can brands dont.

My GM door panel and dash trim kit shipped yesterday. Monday I'll do the install and post pics. For $526 it better look good

All 2 part rattle can clear is UV stable. It has an inner can on the bottom you have to pierce then shake the snot out of it to mix. After you do that, normally you have up to 48 hrs to use it. Otherwise it will harden inside the can. It's the same stuff autobody shops use in their spray guns. Only difference is there isn't any mixing to figure out and no gun to clean up. This time I actually was using a gun I got from harbor freight.

Thanks. I'm happy with how it turned out. The silver is slightly off from the door panels so I may try to blend/clear it so it looks better. It could be just the angle. I have extra stencils if anyone is interested. You can see them in the first picture. $4.00 a piece sent until they are gone
