Taking the plunge!

Well, I have been lurking here for a long time, and today the penny dropped!

Wife was so tired of hearing me talk about the Camaro that she took me to the dealer today to order a CGM Camaro SS!

(2SS/RS! )

Nothing will top my little girl coming into the world, but this is amazing.

Just wait until you drive the car. That might move it up to your number 1 spot! Congrats and welcome to the club.

Howdy fellow DFW-ite

Well I used to be a DFW-ite. I grew up there. Welcome! and Enjoy the wait. We were all there once. This is the time of salavating, nail biting, and head beating. Second guessing colors and options then playing it all out here on the forum. When the car arrives you will have the butterflys in your tummy, dizzy spells, and headaches. And thats before delivery. After delivery expect seriouly sore face muscles once permagrin sets in. A broken thumb from obsessive key clicking, and a serious drain on your fuel funds as you wont be able to stop driving. This is especially bad for me as I live near Hwy 101 where the scenery is awesone, the roads are smooth for the most part and the resorts a plentiful for overnight road trips. Welcome to our world! Oh and just to tease you here is a pic of my "Blue Beast" lurking in the shadows on 101 next to Lake Cescent. See ya around!

I'm going in for the third try on Tuesday to pull the trigger on a 2SS IBM Black Leather interior Auto RS

I ordered one earlier this year from John L. Sullivan in Roseville, CA and after waiting 6 months, they increased the price by $8,000. No way I would pay $51,000, so here I go again with a dealer in town that promises to sell it at MSRP. He's also a preacher, so I believe him.

Amen brothers and sisters.

Congrats to you. Now, sit back and pull up a chair.

Thank goodness for understanding wives....and cyber grey Camaros. Back on Sept 11th I got a call mid-morning from my wife, she asked if I wanted to take a long lunch and go order my Camaro. I waited the obligatory 0.00001 seconds and answered "You betcha."

Just this evening I got to see my new car at the dealer. Yeah, baby. Looking good, even dirty and with the packing tape on it.

I chose to not order the RS package because it snows here, and I didn't want the RS wheels and tires. But I wanted the spoiler and halos. So my dealer went along with the idea of taking the headlights out (Monday of last week, when the car arrived) and giving them to me. I sent them off to AAC for a halo installation. They came back today, and I just got back from delivering to the dealer. They will reinstall them tomorrow, along with installing the aftermarket spoiler I took them. And about 4pm tomorrow I will take delivery.

Doubt I will sleep much tonight. And boy is the day going to go slow for me tomorrow!

Yes, Yes she is great.

RS pkg was the only option I took, I think other than window tint, and a Short throw that is about all I could possibly want! I might switch to the silver wheels for $300 bucks. So that's my plan.

Things I want to get on the car,

1. Window Tint!
2. Hurst Short Throw (BTW is this a Dealer installed thing right now?)
3. Maybe switch to the other rims

This car will be amazing... First Car I will ever own that uses leather seats!

congrats Mosher! I too have been constantly yappin about the new SS. I'm sure the folks around me are getting tired of hearing the talk and wishing I'd finally put in my order. Unfortunatly for them, there are a couple of problems. First. I can not decide which color to go with. And second, Chevrolet has put a "Hold" on the instalation of the Hurst "short-throw" shifter until the first quarter of 2010. I'm pretty sure I can go with the stock shifter for now and have it replaced at a later date , but I cant seem to make up my mind on the color. I do know that I want stripes, but do not want "stickers". Decisions, decisions. Anyway, enjoy your Camaro, and when you get her, post some pics.
