1st oil change, now or wait until spring?

Hello, Just turned 1,000 miles and of course it is getting close to the time to put her to bed for the winter.Just looking for opinions on whether I should change oil now or wait until next year?

Now. You don't want your engine sitting in dirty oil. Don't forget to run Sta-bil through the gas as well.

Spring before you start it up. Over the winter condinsation will build up in the engine. You do not want to stir up the water and oil so just let gravity do its thing and change the oil first thing before starting her up to get the oil and moisture out of her.

I have to go with SSOOCH on this one. Change it now you don't want the dirty oil with contaminates in it sitting in your engine all winter long. I know some guys that will just put cheapo dino oil in it for the winter just to store and then in the spring put the good synthetic stuff back in it.

I would just change it before you start it in the summer. The oil will just be sitting in the pan. Your motor will not know if the oil sitting in the pan has 1000 miles on it or none.

IMO; If you are not driving her the crap in the oil is doing no harm!!!
Oil breaks down over time so changing it before you start it in the summer makes the most sense.
