If it was built prior to 9/1 or as a sold order during that time, no sensors.

Wrong, I have them.
1badSS/RS has the right answer.

You would have paid 299 US (not quite sure on US price) / 400 CAD more if you had them though...

Ok, big question.

What happens when us that don't have the sensors need a rear bumper? (accident or something.)
Would we have the sensor looking circles and no sensors?

I doubt it. You don't see the 1LT cars with holes in their bumpers just because they don't get that option.

Looks like seperate bumpers available. (2) different PN (Part Numbers) for each bumper in the Crash-writer software at the shop.

Is it only available on the SS models? I ordered a 2LT and I don't even know if it has them.

I was just looking at an SS the other day without RS package and no sensors.
So I ask the salesperson what is the deal and of course I can't get a sure answer,so I was left thinking that if you don't get RS pkg. then no reverse sensors because it was 2SS I wish I was ready to buy right then because it was just the way I want one except for the automatic trans.and that really is
not an issue.

I don't think it's an RS thing. This is what comes with the RS package, according to Chevy's website:
Includes 20" x 8" front and 20" x 9" rear flangeless, painted aluminum wheels with Midnight Silver finish, body-color roof ditch molding, high intensity discharge headlamps and RS unique tail lamps.

Why do we pay thousands of dollars to car dealerships just for the privilege of letting them be the middle man, and they can't even answer simple questions about the cars we buy. $2500 in dealer profit so they can detail the car before it's delivered, oh and pull the plastic off the seats. What a load of crap.

But I just ordered a 2LT today. And this car has REALLY poor visibility so I sure home mine comes with the sensors. Parallel parking is going to be a bitch without them.

Visibility takes getting used to. Just have to take your time and double check.

Must have been the cut over date. Mine is a 9/11 build date too. Maybe the IOM ones didn't get there on time, bummer for me.

parallel parking a camaro is like parallel parking an average old sedan, with your eyes closed. I'll be very happy is my car has the sensors. Especially when I'm in the city.
