I am doing it today. Will drive it sometime on nice days, no snow, no rain, no salt.
Have the car for 4 months and 2,000 miles.

2SS/RS IOM manual, sunroof, 21'rims
Love it

Yeah, Ive had mine put up for a few weeks now. Got it Labor Day weekend, has 320 miles on it. Im wondering if I should yank the battery or just leave it in the car with the battery minder on it. What's the consiquences if the computer isn't powered for 6 months?

I will most likely drive it once more this weekend and then she will be stored away with my 1970 Z-28 for the winter. I only got to drive it just over 600 miles this year.

I probably won't be driving mine to much more with winter on the way, but I know I will be driving it this weekend, I'll take it down to Oakland Beach and take more pictures, but mine will not see the road anymore once the first sand or salt is put down, damn RI weather, lol, but I am looking forward to next spring when I put headers, exhaust & CAI on.

Put mine away 11/17/09 2SS/RS I put fuel stablizer for ethanol in the tank and filled it up and parked on carpet squares and inflated the tires to 40 lbs. I also take some oilly rags and put them in the exhaust, besides waxing and car cover this works for me. It is in the garage next to a 78 LT Camaro which I have had since new and have done the same with that for 31 years and it seems to work. Anybody have any ideas let me know

I read you should put steel wool in the exhaust to keep out rodents. I am spazzing over this storage. I havent had a car I needed to worry about. I washed it today after filling it up with premium gas and putting in stabilizer. I also put it on carpet squares. It is going in the garage but I will be using the garage for the other car all winter. I even bought these contraptions from Skymall that you can hang from the ceiling or on the wall which look like 8 foot rafts basically. I'm putting it on the side that will be next to my other car and then behind it so it protects the back. My sons think I have lost my mind! I have been told so many things- I am crazed. Should I use a car cover and what kind should I get????????Please help!! Do most of you guys put it up on jack stands???

No jackstands, the cement isnt going to hurt the tires for 4-5 months. Just bought a can of sylicone, will apply to all the weatherstripping tonight, put the cover on and let her sleep. Oh, full tank of gas and battery tender once a month, thats it! Also did a coat of Zaino last weekend too

I Can't Stand It Anymore!!!

I put mine up 7 weeks ago this weekend. I thought we were going to get into the fall bad weather of New York, and the location I am storing it in, I needed to get it in before the campers came in (they block it in). I can't believe how many times I could have taken it out since then. I did go over last Friday and start it up, running it for about 15 minutes. It felt nice to sit in it again. I thought after a few weeks I would get used to not having it but the withdrawal symptoms are only getting stronger. When putting it away I stuck a couple of bars of Irish Spring soap along with a couple dozen charcoal briquettes in the cab area and the same under the hood and in the trunk. I treated the gas, dropped the windows about an inch, placed the Camaro cover on her, and finally a light weight painters canvas over that. I took the plates off so that no one else could. It's in a barn on a wooden floor. The plugs in the exhaust sounds like a great idea.

Hay - Only a few weeks until the days start getting longer again, and then spring will be here again. You can bet that I will not make the mistake of putting her away to early next year!

I have had my car in storage for about a month now and almost took it out this last weekend. Good thing I didn't, it snowed about 4 inches. I think I need to go see a doctor for the withdrawls. lol

Put mine away 11/14.
Up until this past weekend it was prime driving weather, so I've kinda been kinda bummed out, but now that it snowed I'm glad it's away.

I washed and waxed mine. Sprayed down any metal components that would oxidize with some WD-40. (various bits of metal under the hood) Filled the gas tank, and put a bottle of Stabil in it. Parked it on a tarp for a moisture barrier, covered the car with my car cover and an extra tarp to keep the cover clean too.

I haven't done anything with a Battery maintainer yet, but I want to, just haven't picked one up.

Well, I managed to get 960 miles on her before storing her 2 weekends ago. We got a little snow here but a winter storm warning is in affect for tonight through thursday morning so she is resting till spring.
