Can you see it?
Ok, I have been holding back on this one to see if anyone else sees what I see. So far, no one has posted what I see… Can you see it? I can…

Focus on the area around the fuel cap… For the record, I don’t see the cap location changing after seeing what I see…

The location of the fuel door is different in that it's on top as opposed to on the side of the fender.
I don't know of any current production car that has the fuel door on top v. the side of the fender. The only car I recall with a different location is my Uncle's '75 Stingray. Very confused....

Look at the gap between the fuel cap location and the outer edge of the rear fender on the silver Concept and then the orange Concept… What do you see? |

Correct-o-moon-doe Moose… What if, Just what if, we are looking at the production version of the Camaro? Ed Peper: “It's going to be very, very close. I have seen the production coupe, and if you saw the two of them side by side -- the production coupe and the concept coupe we introduced last year -- you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. It is very minute” Remember the concept is 79 inches wide and needs to be narrowed down. Looks like they found a way. What if???
Just start comparing the pictures you have of the silver and orange concepts at every angle you’ll see what I mien…

Not fair!!! I just got into this thread and didn't get a chance!!! I SEE SOMETHING ELSE. Yes, I'm shouting. After reading the first post, I stared forever. If what you say is true (and I really see this as being correct), I see something else that's appears in my eyes to be different. Now, can you see what it is??? |

I see two other things for sure and maybe a third thing different. One is no big deal, but in reality could be very big which leads into the possible #2 change. Then, there is a 3rd obvious change.

i think they just needed to move somethings and shorten the rear to make room for the conv. i read that changes had to be made and thats probaly oneof them. but u never know but good eye.

This is most likely a narrower car. Killer found that the gas cap location had changed. But, I got to looking at it and for one, there's a single brake light on the back of the vert on the center rear. Then, look at the trunk lid lines on the rear. They slope inward on the original concept and outward on the vert. Also, the rear deck lid looks different. I see that they shortened the lid itself (probably for the vert top). But does the surface area look any different to ya'll?

OK. I spend waaayyy too much time thinking about the new Camaro.
I was out walking my dog (Moose) at the park, and it hit me. :eyebulge: Anyway, here's what I was thinking, and it kind of "backs up" what '$anani's comment was. The reason for the gas lid being closer to the outside of the rear fender than that on the coupe....??????.....ready???????? To make room for the folding-top mechanism!!! How 'bout that little "nugget"?!

Plus if you look at the location one both concepts the fuel cap looks to be in the same place, just that the convert has a narrower left rear quarter… We are just going to have to measure both when no one is looking.

AND...It being closer to the edge would limit gas drops on the paint. Nudge, nudge...

That's it! That's gotta be the new location for the gas cap. I sure hope they don't screw it up and move it to the side of the quarter panel due to the folks worried about gas leakage. I'm w/ ya. Someone's going to have to break out the measuring tape. This has got to be the real deal!
