Bob Lutz Heading Back to Europe, New Chairman of Opel

GM Czar Lutz Heading Back To Europe--To Opel?
Link to article

Quote:
GM's sudden decision this week to reverse path and keep Opel rather than sell a majority stake to Magna and Sberbank raised a lot of eyebrows, and even some tempers, around the world. Today, a report from Germany is saying car czar Bob Lutz is to be the next Chairman of Opel's supervisory board, following today's announcement of the departure of current Chairman and president of GM Europe, Carl-Peter Forster.

He had to be behind GM keeping OPEL, he has an affinity for that label.

So we all win that aren't from Germany? That is good enough for me. We give plenty of money to German companies to persuade them to build things here that I won't feel too bad for them.

Don't let the door hit you in the butt..... American car makers need new people with new ideas not the old guys who ran it into the ground. Just my opinion.

That old guy who ran GM into the ground brought back the Camaro.

And you wouldn't own that CTS of yours if it wasn't for him.

Just saying.

The CTS I have is a piece of crap...just to be blunt and walked away from the SS I ordered because I am afraid of the quality issues GM is having (long term issues) I have had 7 GM cars in the 9 years and the only one that I can say that I have not had any issues with is my 02' Z28. I still stand by my statement about letting the new blood take over. See ya grey hairs!!!

Have you driven a 2nd gen. CTS?

And what long term quality issues? GM's quality standards have improved leaps and bounds under Lutz's supervision.

And Lutz isn't going anywhere. He's still in charge of marketing at GM, which, if you haven't noticed, has also improved leaps and bounds.

As many times as I have had to drop this car for service, I sure have. Car looks awsome. The dash sqeeked the passenger side windows leaked air. And this car had 3000 miles on it.

So get rid of it and buy something else. If you're having this many problems with it you should've lemon lawed it and gotten another car.

Of course there is. JD Power and Associates studies and ranks automotive brands in order of quality. Buick has overtaken lexus at the top of the list, and GM brands have continuously shown improvement with import brands declining.

They ran it in to the ground because the higher ups paid themselves millions & millions of dollars and failed to see the economy turning.
