2013 ls3 bcm

Hi, does the bcm control the gauges or does it get feed from ecu? Doing swap and would love to hook the 2013 gauges but if bcm works those then its gonna be almost impossible to make it work?

Search indicates the gauge cluster is plug n play and a 15 minute installation as all vehicles are prewired for the cluster. As far as what drives the data being fed through the wires, I do not know.

Bcm controls the gauges and stores the mileage. Any gauge cluster that has been previously married to another car/ecm will not work and can not be programmed by the dealer.

if the vats have been tuned out does the bcm work? Will the gauges work if vats is disabled? I think not but had to ask anyway

Turning off Vats will not effect any other part of the ecm or bcm.

Both, the ECM collects data, then over the high speeds date link talks to the BCM, from there the BCM talks to the gages and the rest of the parts on the dash on the low speed link.

so best way to hook speedo and rpm gauge would be gps speedo and MSD 8918 Tach Signal GMR Pickup for any aftermarket rpm gauge
