If you mean the button on the mirror. You cannot make a call utilizing your cell phone, the connection would be to the onstar/verizon cell. I have ordered the steering wheel buttons and was told I would be able to make calls on my cell phone using that button to initiate the call.
As of now if I press the mirror phone button and say Bluetooth it doesn't understand the command? If I say dial, it will dial on the Onstar/verizon system. I would love to know if there is another way to initiate my cell from the mirror button.

Just throwing an idea out there....there's a "Phone" button on the radio itself, can you press than and choose your Bluetooth connection?

No problem saabsonic!!! Hopefully the parts come off of back-order

Still waiting for positive word from my local dealer as to my VCIM/Bluetooth upgrade. Stopped in today to speak personally with my service manager and while he didn't tell me "no" he was very vague and told me he had passed the issue off to their parts manager, who was unavailable today. I may be wrong but fear I'm wasting my time. any suggestions? Thanks.

I've read that after you push the mirror button you need to say "Onstar", and then after the acknowledgement say "Bluetooth" and you will connect to your own cell. Can't yet speak from personal experience however!

Kinda gave up on this and am bypassing OnStar to use my Camar'o shark fin cell antenna for direct connection to my cell phone/amp. Also waiting for for a new Camaro-specific BlueStar hands free module to replace my OnStar module.

saabsonic, jeepguy, and huskerwr...

I actually did receive an email from Chris at Costar earlier this week that he was finally able to rent a Camaro so that he could continue testing his BlueStar product. he said he would let me know if he is able to get it working. I'll let you guys know what he says.

The Coastaltech device seems better, if it works. One they're well known and their previous models retain OnStar functionality.

As of yet, they have no intentions on updating it. At least that's what they told me whenever I would ask them

Has anyone opened the non-Bluetooth box to see if a Bluetooth module can be added to it?

I've got my old PDIM sitting around and I did try to open it. IT's all manufactured together. It's pretty hard to take apart. The Motherboard is soldered to the case by these 36 pins.

Hi Guys,

one short question: I'm living over here in Germany and inported a 2010 camaro - mexico model - witout the onstar bluetooth module.
The only function I got is streaming music over bluetooth.

So - the thing I want to do is to refit the handsfree option for my mobile.
As we dont have any onstar suppoort over here in europe/germany - i dont need this.

So - do II just have to switch the module as described in the first post and I got my handsfree option working?
I hope I dont have any coding to do with the dealer as we dont really have any dealers over here that can cope with the camaro?!

Last point: actually with my current module I dont have any mobile phone / handsfree option menu in the radio - will this pop up once i installed the other module automatically withou coding?

Thx very much in advance

Atlas
