Like I said, the car will not be making a comeback. Lutz opens his mouth before thinking. He shouldn't of even said perhaps to the TT v6 camaro.

I think it's possible and a great idea? Is there talk of the Mustang getting a TT V6? Don't ask me if I think this is a good Z28 or even an SS replacement...

Far from a downer, just being realistic. Lutz runs his mouth before he thinks. The higher ups have already made a statement about that. I don't believe the guy what so ever. I wouldn't doubt the caprice being a cop car only, as I have already stated, but it will not be released to the public, as I have also stated.

As far as the TT v6, I don't think it will happen. It could, but who knows. I believe it will be a FI V8.

Ford is already taking steps to counter GM's move to develop the Caprice as a fleet vehicle

The article never said a TTV6 Z28. It simply said that a TTV6 is possible in the camaro...

Whether you want to take Max Bob's word for it or not. It is still very possible...

I don't think TTV6 automatically equals the Z28... FWIW.

"Lutz hinted at the possibility of a production version of the boosted, 425-hp V6 Camaro GM created for Jay Leno"

Im trying to figure out what exactly the point would be......

No way! warranty issues alone makes it impossible. Imagine what a motor that would handle (within intelligent warranty decisions) twin turbos would cost?

No, the current V6 Camaro can handle that....

But Ford apparently intends on putting the "EcoBoost" engine in the Mustang...
THIS is what GM wants to counter...or cut off, I think...

"Perhaps" coming from Lutz is like "IF" coming from Number 3...

It's certainly possible, and if the LNF is any indication, GM knows its way around performance turbocharging.
I look forward to seeing what they can pull off with a twin-turbo Camaro.

All I know is that if they put a twin turbo in the V6 camaro then it has to outperform the SS off the line or else its a waste because why would someone pay the extra $5-$10k for the twin turbo V6 when you can just buy the 8 cylinder stock.

its all in one's own interpetation of "perhaps"...which to me means it's being knocked around,..meaning there has not been a definate decision made yet,it needs more in-depth thought as far as would it be profitable,..i would think that a t/t v-6 camaro would put out about the same hp as a m6 "ss" but cost more than the "ss" at about maybe 5 more mpg's...but who could keep their foot out of a twin turbo??

While it may be a bit more expensive than the current V6, it's definitely possible. A good example is the BMW 3 series TT V6 - already underrated, it produces a lot more than the rated ~300 hp (reliably) and can easily get like 25% more with the proper tune. It's even present in a car in the sub $30k bracket.

That said, I think it would be an awesome competitor for the next V6 mustang, but not as the Z28. From what I can think of, there isn't a lot of weight saving either, but at least the fuel economy is there.

If I can find a 425 horse' TT V6 with 29 MPG, in a car this heave, I'll be very suprised.

Cool beans. I know that they're on the prowl for more efficient drivetrains, and I'm glad to see they're not going to abandon horsepower... All I can say is that they better keep the V8 in production just as long as they possibly can. Because when it goes, I'm going to

After coming back from SEMA, I thought we were going to see the LSA-powered Z28 making a return for 2011?

I don't see the lineup including a TT V6 option, but it certainly would be interesting.

Twin turbo V6 . This will probably add another, what - 5-7K? You will then have a V6 Camaro that is roughly on par with the V8 for the same price.
