I really hope that the amber parking lines are not the DRLs.. i hate amber DRLs... If they are, they're getting an ol' fasion disable on my ride. I'll have the Halo's so it'll be legal.
...and I hate high beam (or even low beam) DRLs. They take a glare-producing light fixture and use it as a position marker and expect it to not glare just because they've partially reduced the intensity...and it still makes lots of glare -- and on cars without automatic headlights it results in the driver forgetting to turn on the headlights and driving with just the DRLs (partial illumination, no side markers and no taillights).

I don't think any high beams are used for DRL's. You'd be blinding the oncoming vehicles, just like high beams at night.

In the Camaro specifications booklet, it says the fog lights will be the DRLs with the RS package. So I guess the turn signal lights will be the DRLs for non-RS cars.

I am seriously considering rewiring the halos to work as the DRLs, depending how and when they are illuminated.

This thread keeps showing as having new posts, but whenever I click it, the last post is from 07-23-2008, 01:10 AM. Weird...

Have we officially found out what lights will be the DRL's on the different models?

They are. They run at half intensity, but that doesn't change the fact that they're aimed in exactly the right direction to produce glare. Few use the low beams; few use the parking/turn signal light (which is what I think they should all be); most use high beams or lights made specifically for DRLs (which usually are far less offensive than high beams).

One example is from when DRLs first started to become popular; Saturn used them, and didn't even seem to reduce their intensity. Those Saturn high beam DRLs are extremely offensive.

I think someone posted before then deleted it so it looked as it the thread had a new comment but when you opened it there was none

That's what I read, too. Fogs and halos for RS. Turn signals for non-RS.

That would work, except my own post didn't show either. It's definitely some kind of bug.

OH NO!!! I really hope you can disable the amber lights. I really dislike it when cars have that on when driving then the same are used for indicator lights.

I'd rather it was the amber lights than the headlights. I can't express how much I hate healight DRL's. (I haven't seen many cars with DRL's in the last couple years so I don't understand why GM continues with them anyway.)
