My LS3 setup has settled in nicely. The drone is not there like I heard the first day, the tone is deepening every drive...and hard take offs = WOW! I don't find them raspy at all.

I know, I know..post video!

I will try.

Hi All,

Ok, here are some VIDS from outside the car (one inside) that has LS3 Muffler swap! The car also has AIRAID installed.

4 Videos in all, see link below and read description below each video for conditions of each video. First one is hard launch but half open throttle. Second is cruising up hill at 40MPH. Third is inside the cabin on the HWY. Last Video is hard launch with WOT. Enjoy.

Very nice that's what I've been looking for, thanks for the video. I think I might have a set of the exhaust for my V6 just waiting to find out.

No offense meant but that sounds worse than stock. The LLT V6 must really be a tough engine to tame. I'm all for hearing some exhaust note if it sounds good but given that choice, I'd opt for quieter.

Well so much of sound is personal choice...see post before yours. I like at most RPM's, not a big fan of WOT just now...hoping with just 500 miles on them they will carbon up some and mellow some. My V6 stock mufflers sounded very tinny and poor when just bought. They changed quite a bit before I JUST RIPPED THEM OFF. They were too tame under heavy accel.

Nothing against you personally but the only problem with videos is 90 percent of the time it sounds nothing like the car in person.. alot depends on the camera and microphone recording it, and also on the sound system on the playback computer.. (I listened to it on my computer and it sounds one way, on my wifes computer it sounds completely different) Unfortunately, I really think videos like this are not very useful. You need to hear one in person to really form an opinion.. only thing I could tell from these videos is that it sounded kind of raspy..

I agree that posted VIDS do not do "live sound" justice. I only posted at the request of others who wanted to see video's of LS3's from outside the car. Trying to help members who asked...

I think it sounds fine when cruising but at WOT it sounds really really raspy.

Yes all good, ACCEPT AT WOT. Will see what happens after a few thousand miles on Mufflers, they are pretty new...perhaps carbon will age the mufflers in time.

Well I have put approx 700 miles on the LS3 mufflers idle, normal takeoff, and manual mode WOT sould good in auto when I do a mild takeoff at 3k it soulds like a ricer so with that Autoanything was offering the new Flowmaster exhaust for $396 shipped from all of the sound clips of the flowmaster I like the sound so far I will be removing my LS3's in approx 2 weeks.

You won't be disappointed with the Flowmaster choice. I don't have their exact axle back kit, but I do have the 40 Delta Series mufflers on mine and I am happy with them. I thought about buying the axle back kit and putting it on just to see what kind of difference there really is between it and the 2 Flowmasters I have on it now.

KGA...I know you have not had the delta's long, but I would be interested in knowing if you feel the sound has deepened and/or mellowed out over time. I really like it at idle, and when you steadily get on the gas, but when its blipped quickly or a quick WOT, it does get a tad raspy. If that mellowed out, it would be really great then.

Also, I know you mentioned some drone right? Is it really that noticeable?

Thanks

I have only put about 800 miles on them since I installed the new mufflers. They do sound like they may be starting to mellow out a bit. I'll give an update and do a new video when I get a few more miles on them.

It does have a little drone around 2,000 rpm's like most systems but it is no where near as bad as it was after I got the right rear window glued into place. That's another story and a factory screw up. See link below.
