Thanks I thought they would be metal grey. I have a friend that will spray it for the cost of the paint. Will install grey and see what it looks like, if we like it may get grey hood stripes. But I think the black on black will be the way to go.

Again thanks

Hi, well a few of you may recall my issues getting this car, but a miracle from above, no not that far above, just above if you know what i mean, occured, and I ended up getting my car at MSRP, and the rest is the icing on the cake. Here is my ride, going to have some upgrades tomorrow, here she is before tint, alarm and clear bra... Ok, sorry so many pics, my husband got snap happy, and a few were "chopped". The 1981 is ours, but the 67 you see in a few is a friends. Enjoy, and that 1981 will likely be for sale in the next few months. If anyone would be interested, pm me and when we do decide to sell I will check back with each of you to see if it is something you may still be interested in.

Thanks to everyone Camaro5 that helped make this miracle happen for VIN 2386 and Firstmate, you guys are awesome!!!

I was told by my dealer that it is important to paint the GFX *before* they are installed as they are hard-riveted onto the body and more difficult to paint after-the-fact...

That's the rout I'm going.

Should have a build-week committment mid month!!

Picked mine up this morning and everyone is right about drawing attention. I came out of the grocery store and two girls were looking my car over and taking pictures. I am still waiting for the GFX to be delivered however. Dealer said they expect delivery in 2 or 3 weeks. Then, off to the paint shop to get them painted and maybe some custom stripes.

deffinately put picks up if you do black on black..something else you might think of doing is just getting flat pin stripes that outline the stripes for an even more unique look..and another thing i was very VERY close to doing was having the guy that done mine to just put a ton of green metal flake in his clear coat and having him just clear coat out the stripes..that way they are totally un-noticable until the right lights hit it and then they sparkle and glisten in green..but any color would be awesome like that..especially silver/chrome metal flake..just let me see that car if you go grey or black stripes

wait till you see flashes from vehicles while youre driving on the interstate..thatll really freak you out..or when you see cars swurving at you and when you look they are taking pics with cell phones while trying to drive..happens all the time to me..that and people will actually block you in so you cant drive off to talk about it and take pics..i went to a dealer in my area on sunday when they were closed and parked mine beside the others to compare..and just because my car was different people started pouring in and seen me opening the door and showing it off to some random guy..They tried opening the doors to the other cars but couldnt, Freaked them the hell out real bad when i got in mine and drove off laughing..LOL..Have fun with your new car..i have a blast in mine..Like they told me, make it YOUR own and dont worry about the negative feedback..

had mine painted after the fact..looks perfect...painter actually took the sides and rear off..no prob..although he broke every single scrivet on both sides of the side panels trying to put them back on..didnt tell me almost annilhilated 1500 dollars and four hours of work..but thank god i went to put on the underbody leds right after it came outta paint or i would have never caught it..anyone getting paint done after putting post order effects on should firmly pull on the side panels of the effects or all of them actually to make sure your painter/body worker put them back on properly.

the gfx are not hard riveted.at least not the gm ones i ordered.the use just basic "scrivets" or so they call them..you just slide them in place and just hit them with your hand to pop them into place..very simple installatino for the side pieces and rear piece is extremely easy after you take the old ones off..only thing bad about those is taking the whole rear piece off including tail lights..but wasnt bad..but the front small. very small piece was the most nerve racking difficult piece. we had to use whole saws and drill holes and what not..but wasnt that bad.

Sorry, but the bumblebee stripes and hockey stripes just don't belong together...

Very nice car, though!
