I must be in a minority or something, but I think the SS looks fine. Grille and all. Great actually!
I really cant complain about a damn thing on this car so far. It's a dream come true. But then again, we havent seen any pricing yet.... |

For me, I plan on getting a fully loaded LT RS. If I can't have the hood scoop with that car, I may have to get the SS bumper. My big beef with that is I would feel like I am pretending to drive a better car, which is pretty lame, IMO.

Depends on engineering reasons for the SS/V8 frontend
Looks like part of it may be to get more airflow into grille and some at the bottom edge is for downthrust - but I am no expert I dont think GM is making frontends different just for cosmetics I am sure they would like single part number too |

I believe, from past experience, that those who have the V6 wanted to make everyone believe they had the SS, so they would buy the hood, the spoiler, the wheels, and the emblems. They would add an exhaust to make it louder and try to "trick" the other drivers into thinking they had an SS. It would be unorthodox to reverse this wonderful tradition.

I perfer the SS front bumber. although it looks less like the concept i think it will look way more aggresive and thats what i want, to scare the hell out of the mustang and challenger guys

- Xanthos P.S. - 'course, I could be the minority. Its kinda why I tuned out my 305 so much in my IROC instead of doing a 350 swap like seems to be the norm. I paced a 2001 SS for a good while and when we stopped to talk he was like "Thats a 305? Sick..." Thats what I like.

Although highly improbable because these are all concepts pics, but I would like to see one of these grille options when the camaro is released. I think that the stock grille is spaced to far apart and the billet has a much tighter and aggressive look.

WOW those pics are sexy. I totally agree with an SS billet option.

The very first thing I thought when I saw the Concept was that if made like that somebody will make a phantom grill for it.

Ok, I know someone said this before, but we are all being a bit unfair.
GM has not released final production pics of the SS, which gives it the disadvantage. Since the v6 pics have been released, with the best angles possible and maybe even doctored up a bit, it is not fair to compare them both, its like comparing apples and oranges. Now for my take so far: I like the mail slot on the SS, but the lower grill really needs fixing (Hopefully will not be the same as the pic on 1st page). And to add to this, aftermarket grills will look better anyway, so we really need not to worry. But I still have one question. Will some of the features with the RS package come standard with the SS? Mainli the chrome finish on the tail lights (because as I understand the Halo's are not standard). I cant wait to see pics of the SS/RS |
