I have no noise from my shifter at all in any gear or rpm range. (at least that I can hear) I have read a lot of posts on this site they mostly all say the short throws are noisey. it appears that some guys are adding dyno mat under the console to dampen the noise. I have a barton short throw and would recomend it to anybody.

Helped with the Install of JEFFNY09 today. The product is great quality......The install was not as bad as i thought except for that damn rubber boot. One word of advice is watch where everything lands......if it goes into the heatshield, it a chore to dig out. Since it wasnt my car, I didnt drive it but Jeff sways it is unbelievable!. I dod notice some rattle when his hand was on the shifter though. We instralled the pistol grip on his. I wish taht we could have adjusted the grip to sit just above the boot but couldnt figure out who to adjust it lower. Maybe we will take another stab another day.

are you talking about screwing the boot collar up once you tighten the 4 set screws?

Yeah all the set screws on the adapter for the pistol grip need to be tightend up, prior to threading down the pistol grip.

Ah another unhappy hurst buyer! Mines coming out this week and Baton's going in. Mine wasn't a noise issue. I have other dislikes about it. Hope this one's different. Maybe with the adjustable height I won't have the same issues. Don't want to go into the Hurst issue, Got introuble the last time I did.

Can you answer me this? Where is the short throw coming from. The hurst had me confused but with yours and the stock side by side yours measures out longer than the stock shifter. And from the position of the bearing it's going to be shoved up more into the hole than the stock. This leaves the shifter even higher than the stock. No don't get me wrong,I don't doubt it will be short throws but I don't understand the engineering. And yes I did have the saft threaded all the way in.
