Do you think 500 RWHP is acheivable without forced induction?
I have done everything I can think of and have peaked out at 471. Below is a list of my mods. Am I missing something?
Headers & Cat Delete 3" Full Exhaust Aggressive CAM ADM CAI FAST 102 Intake Manifold Ported TB C&C Ported Heads Tune I am sitting at 471 RWHP. I know a UD pulley will give me 5 or so but other than that I am stuck??? Bryan |

Yep, 4.10 gears would give you the feeling of a lot more horsepower

yes, you can make 500 rwhp by milling the heads and going with a larger G6x3 cam. 510+ is achieveable with that setup.

Throw a Vararam air intake on and tune it and you will probably be there.

I know of stock displacement ls1's that make 500rwhp with no power adder. They are using aftermarket casting heads but still I dont think those heads flow more than a ported ls3. I think the key is matching the correct part combo. What you really have to get right is they cam and tune for your combination. They cnc porting job on the heads is very important also. Have the intake and heads ported together and have someone who really knows what they are doing spec you out a cam. I dont see why with the displacement and head flow of the ls3 why these motors cant make 525+rwhp.

It could also be a difference in dynos. 471rwhp on a mustang dyno is probably over 500 on another. I would say take it to the track and let your time be the judge. 500rwhp should trap between 125-127 in these cars.

500 is very doable.
I am at 496 with my current setup, and it is very similar to yours. I do not even have my heads worked on yet...but I do have a slightly larger cam. |
