18" inch wheels fit on ss?

I have 20" wheels on the ss now (stock wheels). Will 18" wheels fit on the ss? or is 20 pretty much as low as I can go?

Yes 18 will fit. You need to look for 18x9.5 with offset at 50mm or so but they definitely do fit as alot of us on here are running 18 to have drag radials to run at track.

Probably won't clear the brakes. You'd do better to look into some Z06 wheels.

Look, I don't know why everybody keeps suggesting that 18's don't fit. I have them on my 2SS right now. I bought them from tirerack and have the same size rim and tire on all four wheels.

Hey ccdan, where can I look at your wheels and what size drag radial could I fit on a 18x11 rear wheel? An 18x11 clears everything and doesn't stick out the sides?

Look at this thread. Look at the car with the black tires at the bottom.

Aren't these wheels the exact same wheels as these:

If tirerack tells you they fit, I can't go against them as I was searching for 18 to put drag radials on and the offset is what I wasnt sure of but I would talk to someone at tireracka nd make sure no spacers are required.

I went to tirerack and looked but I can't get it to pull up any 18" for the 2010 camaro as it only shows 20". How did you filter it to show you which 18" will fit?

An 18" will fit with ease if it has the correct geometry. Not a problem.

Here's a question for you guys.... Would any of you be interested in fitting a 17" on your cars if it were available?

If you are asking yourself "Why would anyone want to do that?", the answer is mostly for the drag radial guy that knows a 17" hooks better than an 18" and especially better than the stock 20" on the SS.

Let me know your thoughts...

Thanks.

jrpxxii: run a search under 'winter' for the camaro and see if you can find them that way, that's how i did it.

Yes, I searched "winter" and it recommends down sizing to 18". But mostly its waaaay cheaper to go with 18". I want to get those EXACT wheels in the picture above. If anyone has more info, that would be great

Srider, 17 would be awesome if you have a way to produce them. I want 17 for the exact reason of drag radials but as far as I know there is only 1 company offering them and they are $750 each. I guarantee if someone comes out with a 17 that is affordable for us weekend track guys to put drag radials on, you couldnt make them fast enough.

I just ordered a set of these:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&wTire=1

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...25&qty_front=4

I think these are the exact same stuff in that pic. Tirerack says it will be here around the 8th of DEC

Will the stock Camaro 18 inch wheels fit over the Camaro SS brembo's?
My friend is selling the 18 inch wheels off of an LT and I wanted to use them for the winter.

Thanks

You people running the 18" wheels: What brakes are you using?

I've read that very few 19" wheels will fit over the stock SS rollerskates, though some do. So have you changed out your brake pads for an aftermarket pad? Which ones, and are you happy with them? Is there some other solution that I've missed?

Edit: I just noticed the dates on the original posts. Doh!

Pic - My car with my 18" wheel setup.
I didn't have to do any changes to fit the wheels. I have an early build without the roller skate brake pads. Most SS's need to change the brake pads or cut off the roller skate part of the brakes.
265/50/18 front tires, 305/45/18 rear tires (drag radials). Rides great and has excellent grip off the line.
